partment, Miss Alice D. Agnew being
relieved to take charge of the nurses
attached to Base Hospital No. 54.
Miss Parish arrived at this station
■Monday afternoon after a long and
tedious Joiuney from Camp IJonavan,
h'ort Sill Okla., where she had charge
of the nurses at the Base Hospital
tliere.
NURSES ARRIVE.
Three nurses arrived for duty with
the U. S. base hospital. Camp Greene,
this past week. They are; Miss
Josephine Foster, who reached here
Monday from New Orleans, La.; Miss
Agnes Lee, N. A. S. H. U, S., from
New Hampshire, who arrived Tuesday
afternoon and Miss .Ioanna Coakley,
who has been studying in New York
city for the past four years, on Wed
nesday evening.
REPORT FOR OUTY.

Miss June Pellig of Lexington, Ky.,
a former member of the U. S. army
base hospital. Camp Greene, has been
giv’nted a discharge for physical dis
ability and has returned to her home
in Kentucky.

NURSE MARTHA PIGG.
Prom the picture above there Is no
denying that Miss Martha Pigg, nurse
in Ward C-5 is one of several “mercy
sisters’’ who haVe the riding habit.
Miss Pigg is an enthusiastic member
of that cavalry of nurses and officers
which leaves the nurses’ home every
evening about sundown for a canter
over the Dixie hills.

NURSE MARRIES
Miss Anna Porter, for several weeks
a nurse at the U. S. army base hos
pital, Camp Greene, was married to
Lieut. J. A. Steves at Washington on
Friday of last week. She has resign
ed her work with the R. N. A. N. C.
Mr. and Mrs. Steves will make their.
home in Washington temporarily, as
the lieutenant, who is commissioned hr
ihe medical department, is stationed
there. Mr; Steves had formerly prac
ticed medicine at Mauch Chunk, Pa.,
where he met Miss Porter.
ERROR CORRECTED.
Miss Sonner begs to correct the er
ror in the last issue of The Caduceus,
which stated that she nearly drowned
in two feet of water. Mis^ Sonner al
leges that the water was at leas:
twenty feet deep.
ANNOUNCEMENT.

fallen soldier, and having a few
minutes to spare before being reliev
ed from duty, she inquired tenderly;
“Is there any thing else you wish?”

nlaht,’ warmly replied the wan patient
whose fever was rising at a rapid rate,
“.All right,” sweetly consented the
f ’ir attendant, “111 go get the orderly,
as he looks after all the rough stuff.”
