THE LAST OF CAMP GREENE UNITS—PHOTO BY STAFF PHOTOGRAPHER WENDELL ROBERTS.
There are now no members of or
ganized hospital units among the
nurses at the U. S. army base hospital.

nurses belonging to an oi^anization
were those of Base Hospital No. 57,
whose pictures appear above and who
have gone from Camp Greene.
The photograph was taken a few
days ago when the women assembled
on the front steps of the new nurses’
home at the noon hour.
The names of the nurses, reading
the top row from left to right, are
Misses Stella Terrell, Elizabeth M.
Spotten and Mary L. McCoin. Second

THE OPERATING ROOM
SOME JOB.
Miss D. on going home on her first
vacation from a nurses’ training
school, met a little negro boy who re
sided on her father’s big plantation,
who asked: Lawdy, Miss Daisy, whar
is yo ben awl dis wile?
Miss Daisy: Why, Rastus, didn’t
Mammy Jenny tell you I was over at
the hospital?
Rastus: Horsepital! Sides alive.
Miss Daily, day ain’t a got yer taking
care of horses, are they?
Iodine plays quite an important role
as to Aseptics Precautions in the
operative fields, for nowadays it seems
rather a difficult problem to distin
guish color on our new victims.
CHANGING ABOUT.
Major Burns, Lieutenants Munson,
Harner and Kelherer have left our
staff while Captains Anderson and
Young have been added.
Private Levher has joined the/pera-
ting room staff.
The loss of the Misses Wenke and
Phillips is felt most keenly.
Sergeant Cosgrove is greatly miss
ed as he too has gone to take charge
of the new convalescent wards which
are about to open their doors.
WAS FINE DANCE.
The Wednesday evening dance for
enlisted men given by the War Camp
Community Service in the open air pa-
villion of the Soldiers’ Club on South
Tryon street was one of the most de
lightful of the summer season. A
string orchestra furnished exe'cellent
music for the dancing, about seventy-
five couples participating.
Invitation is extended to every en
listed white soldier in Camp Greene
to attend the dances at the Soldiers’
Club. Open-air motion pictures will
be shown for the pleasure of the men
who do not dance. There is a good
canteen seervice at the club.
