Private Trimmell seems perfectly satisfied now that Mrs. Trimmell is here. On last Thursday evening, Septem ber 12, the officers of the second bat talion gave to its non-commissioned of ficers a banquet and ball, At 8 o’clock sporty looking non-coi5e began arriv ing on the scene, alter taking a second look we discovered hanging on their arm a most charming young Charlotte lady. After each party having been introduced the grand march began. (And take it from me boys, it was a (grand march) breaking into one of those dreamy fox trots. The floor be ing waxed to a perfection and the hall decorated perfectly, caps, whistle and oodles of confetti being issued to each lady proved to every one that the ball was a success. Promptly at 10:30 the banquet began. Modescy forbids us telling what the eats consisted of. Plenty of good music, good-looging ser geants and corporals and above all the charming young ladies of Charlotte brought this banquet to a successful close. The McDonalds are responsible for those classy eats. -»-By Corporal Jimmy Salter. COMPANY F. Captain O’Keefe, our bactalion com mander, is being visited by his moth er and sister. Lieutenant Morrison seems to be quite a kodak fiend. We are wonder ing why. the photographs do not show smiling countenance of ladies instead of ugly soldiers. Property Sergeant James has an as sistant helping him now. Maybe the Senator can get a little rest now. Corporal Lynch says he would like to stay in Charlotte after the rest of the soldiers leave. Sgt. Sheridan, alias Larry the Bat, has been in the hospital too long to suit him. We wish you were back. Bud. Sgt. Prause claims he has had only one letter since coming to Camp Greene.
