NEW QUARTERMASTER IN POWER
One of the first of the hospital per
sonnel to bid farewell to the military
service to resume his civilian affairs
was 1st Lieut. Charles Harvey, Q. M.
C., who has been Quartermaster of
the base Hospital for' over five
months. He is succeeded by 1st. Lieut.
John H. Trickey, Q. M. C.
Lieutenant Harvey returned to his
home in Kinston, N. C., on Wednes
day after a last good-bye to his many
friends here and stated before leaving
that he had greatly enjoyed the ac
quaintance of many fine men both
among the officers and among the en
listed personnel of the hospital and
his only regret was that he was un
able to bid them each and every one
success and adieu.

He first entered the service as an
enlisted man at Camp Lee, Va., early
in the war being promoted and com
missioned as a second lieutenant in
the Q. M. C. from that camp, and pro
ceeding to Fort Oglethorpe, Ga., for
duty. On June 25th he arrived at this
station to accept the duties of quarter
master for the hospital, receiving his
commission as first lieutenant on No
vember 5th.
Lieut. John H. Trickey who is now
in charge assumed the position during
Lieut. Trickey is one of the few “old
timers’’ here; having been in the serv
ice for over 18 years and having risen
from the ranks to his present posi
tion. He has seen service in the Phil
ippine campaigns, the expeditions of
Cuba and spent considerable time at
the Panama Canal Zone. He has also
been stationed at many army posts
throughout the United States and was
located at Port Thofnas, Ky., before
accepting his present commission.
