THE CADUCEUS OFFICERS’ PAGE BY CAPTAINS CHARLES Z. CANDLER AND HARRY L. BABCOCK A RANK DIFFERENCE OUR LONG AND SHORT. We had to look to our officers for an example of “the long and the short of it,” which picture every publication is supppsed to present at some time or other. There is a rank difference in this case in that the “short of it” Is a captain and the “long” a lieuten ant. Captain L, S. West, in charge of the X-Ray of the U. S. Army Base Hospita, Camp Greene, appears as the dimu- tfve figure when compared to Lieuten ant Basil B. Brimm, who stands slight *y over six foot and who was surgeon for ward C-5 before discharged from service last week. RESUMES PROFESSION. Dr. Clyde F. Ross, formerly Captain Ross of the G. U. service here, has re-entered the profession in his home city of Richmond, Va., where he has established an office in the Profes-i, sionai building. 1 OFFICERS DISCHARGED. Four more of the officers’ personnel of the U. S. Army Base Hospital were successful in securing their perma nent discharges from the service of the U. S. army during the past week and have returned to their respective homes to resume the practice of med icine there. They are: Captain Rob ert Watt who left for Philadelphia, Penn.; Capt. Charles Candler who re turned to his former home in States ville, N. C.; Lieutenant Clarence Thomas who traveled west to Chey enne, Wyo.; and Lieut. Thomas Mc- Gurl who expected to resume his prac tice at Minersville, Penn. TRANSFERRED TO CAPITOL. Lieutenant Arthur Guerra, formerly ward surgeon in one of the “B” row wards has been transferered from this station to the Army Medical School at Washington, D. C. ABSENT ON LEAVE. First Lieutenant Frederick Wolf of the Sanitary Corps, who is assigned to duty at the laboratory has been granted a ten day leave of absence and has returned to his former home at Mongomery, Ala., for that period. SEES OLD FRIENDS. Captain Evans, formerly receiving officer of the hospital, who was trans ferred to Hoboken, N. J., some time ago, had occasion to accompan^ a number of patients from that station to Camp Greene. One of them was taken ill and Captain Evans brought him to the hospital, thus having the opportunity of seeing some of his old friends and acquaintances at the re ceiving ward in and about the hos pital.
