12 iMK PoiNrica COACH BOYLIN LEAVES HIGH SCHOOL Jack Boylin, for two years coach, of the three major sports, football, basket ball, and base ball, at the local high school will not be back next year. He ended his story at the high school with the most suc cessful season in athletics the high •school has had in many years. He will be at the High Point college next year. “Coach,” who knows and under stands boys, and is the best liked member of the faculty is mourned by every student in the high school but all are glad he will be in the same town. In an interview this morning coach stated that he looked at the pa.st year as the most successful year in athletics ever had in the high school both in regard to the' number of games won and the number of par ticipants. 40 boys came out for foot ball and helped make the past season the most succe.ssful ever held winning 10 out of 12 games. The basket ball season was not so successful in the number of games won but the boys played hard and clean. There were 35 boys out for ba.sket ball. In the base ball season the team won a majority of games. 30 boys were out for this sport. In the athletic program Coach Boylin; has worked with four pri mary things in view. First—Win as many game.s as possible. possible. Second—Develop as many boys as Ihird—Develop as much enthus iasm as possible. Fourth—Develop a fighting spirit backed by clean sportsmanship. Happiness is a natural fiower that comes from the seed of kindness.
