STUDENT CONGRESS
CONVENTION ENDS
(Continued 'From Page 1)
elected. Although, the slate of of
ficers could not be obtained at
the time of the writing of this
article, it appeared that Winston-
Salem would have a nominee for
president, Bahnson Gray. Roger
Taylor stated that the nominating
committee would make its report
on Friday and that he had no
way of telling who would be nom
inated.
It seemed that the Council
Congress would meet in Rocky
Mount next year. Rock Mount has
asked to be host to the council
for the past three years, but each
year the convention has been held
in some other city.

Harold Wilson and that shoul-

come the Juniors. Next in the
procession will be the High School
band, followed by the Sophomores,
and then the Junior High School
students will fall in line.
The parade will start from the
High School and march down
Jones street to Lindsay street.
Leaving Linsay at Church street,
the line of march will go to Main
street, and down it to commerce,
where the line will turn to the
left and go one block to Wrenn
Street. The students will then
march up Wrenn Street to the
back of the Sheraton hotel where
the parade will disband.
The purpose of the home-com
ing game is to promote the feel
ing of friendship betwen previous
and present High Point High
School students. For this reason
all former football lettermen will
be allowed to see the game free
of charge as guests of the Athle
tic association.
> Hazel Wiagoner was awarded a
fifteen dollar prize after entering
her booklet “My True Self” in a
contest sponsored by the Home
Economics department.
Last spring she, along with
three other girls, was given three
Simplicity patterns and a Simp
licity Sewing Book.
Miss Frances Mendenhall hopes
that her students will enter the
contest since it is opened to all
Home Economics classes.

WALKING ON AIR
(Continued from page 2)
“The young lady of today isn’t
nearly so much interested in what
a man stands for as what he’ll fall
for.” Well... and he’s not crazy!
“A visitor to an insane asylum
noticed an inmate pushing a
wheelbarrow upside down. ‘Why do
you have it upside down,’ he
asked. ‘You don’t think I’m crazy,
do you? was the reply. ‘I pushed
it right side up yesterday and
they kept filling it with gravels.”
Our thanks to the Asheville“Sky-
High” for a little humor.
If you gotta snoop—you gotta
snoop—^what a lovely future—^we
can see ourselves old and gray—
still with enough life to peep in
someone’s keyhole.
