Mr. and Mrs. Jimmie Whitley of Wilson spent last week end here with their parents, Mr. and Mrs. W. A. Wiggs. The Young A.dult Class of the Baptist Sunday School gave their teacher, Mrs. G. F.. Brown a sur prise birthday supper at her home last Saturday night. They carried the food, and spread it just Mr. and Mrs. Gerald Sylivant of Snow Hill and children, Gerry and Ginny Lou visited Mrs. Doc R. Oliver Thursday afternoon. They were accompanied home by Mrs. N. W. Creech, mother of Mrs. Sylivant who has been visiting Mrs. Oliver. Mrs. Floyd C. Price who has been undergoing treatment at Rex Hospital has returned home. Miss Mildred Oliver has return ed to Raeford after spending several days with relatives. Thomas Edv/ard Fitzgerald o' Washington, D. C., spent several days last week with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Robert L. Fit-^jerald. Miss Mary Elizabeth Jones and Rex Champion of Raleigh speiit the week end at the home of Mr. and Mrs. E. S. Jones. Mr. and Mrs. R. L. Fitzgerald and son Thomas Edward Fitzger D. C., visited relatives in Fremont last week. being with him. His grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. C. L. Loy from Fayetteville also came for the party. Mrs. Loy served the group ice cream, and cake. Mrs. Sarah liamm spent last week end in Lucama and attended church at Scotts Church on Sun day. Mrs. Ernestine Alcroft of Fre mont visited with Mr. and Mrs. G. F. Brown last Sunday. Mr. and Mrs. Wilbert Strickland of Clinton, Mr. and Mrs. Willie aid of Washington, Strickland and children from Pro gressive Community were the dinner guest of their mother and step-father, Mr. and Mrs. Bob Hinton last Sunday. She was taken to Johnston County Hospital. The driver received only slight injuries. Patrolman F. B. Trivette of Pine Level assisted with the probe. Af ter consultation with Coroner J. Durwood Creech, who is ill at his home, Underwood said no inquest would be held. The accident was described as unavoidable. Funeral services were conducted Monday at 3 p. m., from the Smithfield Primintive Baptist Church by Elder Shepherd Step henson. Burial was in Oakland Heights Cemetery. CELEBRATES BIRTHDAY Duncan Fitzgerald, young son of Mr. and Mrs. Alton Fitzgerald celebrated his fourth birthday Saturday with a party.
