AND FUTURE LEADERS BUZZY ELLIOTT, son of Carl Elliotl, Main Office, gradualed from Mount Holly High School last June. He has been working the past two summers at the Rush Plant, and plans to attend Lenoir - Rhyne, starting this month. Besides being profi cient at tennis and billiards, Buzzy was on the high school debating team and played trombone in the high school band for 7 years. 1966 GRADUATES N. C. VOCATIONAL TEXTILE SCHOOL Smi Mr. william B. BUIE, JR., (right) has been employed at the Rush Plant where he is training for a future supervisory posi tion with American & Efird Mills, Inc. He is receiving special instruction in each department while participating in the actual work program. The above picture was made while working on cards. Mr. Robert Baker, card grinder and instructor for this phase of the training, looks on approvingly from the back ground. Mr. Baker said that Bill was doing fine and had learned to set up a flattop card and a roller top card during his first week with him. Mr. Buie has already received instruction in picking and carding and is now in the drawing process. Mr. Buie is from Dillon, S. C. He graduated from Clemson University at Clemson, S. C., August 13, after completing the course in Textile Management. His wife, Jo Ann, attended Winthrop College. Mr. and Mrs. Buie are living in Mount Holly at 105 American Street. They attend the Presbyterian Church. We are proud to have Bill with us at the Rush Plant and hope he enjoys his stay here. We are also happy to welcome Mrs. Buie into the American & Efird family. She holds an office position at the Trucking Division. These gentlemen, pictured with their super visors and superintendents, graduated on June 8, 1966, after attending the N. C. Vocational Textile School for one year, five days every week. They all managed to work their regular shifts, and still come through with high grades (all A’s and B’s).
