On the right in Plant #3, ATTIE MURRAY is operating a tube autoconer. *■ I ' JS;. : ■iiS )OOOOOOOOOC //( FEATURES AROUND THE PLANTS Of the many improvements that have been made in the Al bemarle Plants, one that stands at the top of the list is the installation of the Card Cleaning, Pneumacard System now in operation in Plants #2 & 3. This system is designed so that a card is constantly cleaned at three of the most strategic points. The results of this system are much cleaner machinery, better stock and most important of all practically all of the dust and lint is removed from the air in the carding department. Picture on the left shows an individual card with the attach ments through which the dust and lint are removed. On the right LEMMIE PATE, card machine operator is stand ing beside a filter station. These units collect the material re moved from the cards, clean the air which is recirculated through the departments. fall, 1966
