When you’ve come to understand
him
And the burdens that he
bears,
When you’ve learned the fight
he’s making
And the troubles In his wav.
Then you find that he Is dif
ferent
Than you thought him yester
day.
And may sneer at him the
while.
“The Lord Is my light and
my salvation; whom shall I
dear? the Lord is the strength
of my life; of whom shall I
be afraid?’’—Psalm 27:1.
To plant bulbs In the Fall
will give you a beautiful garden
each month in the year.
January will produce snow-
drips, and February will give
you the beautiful winter Aconite.
These are a yellow cup, edged
with green leaves.
March Is filled with Glory
of the Snow. April is awake
with Anemone. In May we can
enjoy the many species of
tulips. Plan to plant plenty of
these.
In June you can enjoy Allium
Noly—a member of the onion
family. In July, we have the
many species of lilies. In August
we have the Amaryllis’ cousin,
Lycoris, which Is a bell-llke
flower sometimes called the
magic lily.
In September look under the
trees for Sterubergla Lutrea.
These come up as the days grow
shorter. Calchicum speclosum
is the best of the Autumn cro

Thanksgiving, and the “little”
crocus is coming out at
Christmas.
Many other bulbs are bloom

these are dependable each
month. To be effective, all small

You find his faults are trivial
And there’s not so much to
blame
In the brother that you jeered at
When you only knew his name.
You are quick to see the blemish
In the distant neighbor’s
style.
You can point to all his errors
And your prejudices fatten
And your hates more violent
grow
As you talk about the failures
Of the man you do not know.
But when drawn a little closer.
And your hands and shoulders
touch.
You find the traits you hated
Really don’t amount to much.
You begin to find the texture
Of the splendid side of hlmf"
You begin to understand him.
And you cease to scoff and
sneer.
For with understanding always
Prejudices disappear.
