cal Society is sponsoring
their annual Yard Sale to
be held Saturday, April 28
from 10:00 until all items
are sold. The sale will be
held at the Attmore Oliver
House on Pollock Street,
next to the “Lady Tryon
Beauty Parlor.”

wishing to donate items
may bring them to the
Attmore home between
11:00 and 3:00, during the
week of April 23. Proceeds
from the sale will be used
to restore the historical
homes in New Bern.
The Democratic Pre
cinct Meeting of the 4th
ward was held at the Rec
reation Center on Pine
Tree Lane on Thursday,
April 19. The meeting
was called to order by
Chris Barker, chairman.
The purpose of the meet
ing was to elect officers.
Rep. Baf ker was re-elected
as chairman. Other offi
cers elected were: 1st Vice
Chairman, Jerry Adams;
2nd Vice Chairman, Eliz
abeth Daily; Secretary-
Treasurer, Sylvia Adams;
and 12 delegates to attend
the county convention at
Craven County Court
House on May 19. If you
are a newcomer to the area
and have not registered to
vote, you may do so at the
Board of Educations or at
one of the 23 different pre
cincts. The 1980 elections
will be here before you
know it.
Officers for the coming
year were elected at the
meeting of the Business
and Processional Women
on April 24. LThe women
met at the Palace Motel.
