Grady Reynolds, 90 of the Ernul community and his younger brother, Frank, 79, of Tampa, Florida spent the better part of their first day together reliving old times the two had shared and catching up on what has been happening during the past quarter century. ■ 'Natives of Georgia, where they attended school, the two have led very exciting lives. Grady worked as superintendent of Anchor Mill in Hunters ville, N. C. until he retired. He married the former Juanita Wheatley and settled in the Ernul community. His daughter, Pauline, and her husband Charles Osborne accom panied Frank on this visit. Frank worked as a machinist. He explained that he was working at Pearl Harbor when it was attacked in 1941. All mothers and daughters of the church are invited to attend. Mr. and Mrs. Allie McCosley spent the week end with Mr. and Mrs. Robert Earl McCosley in Fayetteville, while there they attended the Regional Assembly. Hardison of New Bern Rest Home visited Mrs. Mae Herring on Monday. Mr. and Mrs. Clyde Daugherty of Atlantic spent the weekend with Mrs. Ruby Daugherty. Ft. Barnwell Mr. and Mrs. Dale Dupree attended the Regional Assembly of the Disciples of Christ held in Fayetteville last weekend. Mr. and Mrs. Charles Oglesby and daughter Tanya and Mrs. Alma Rice were dinner guests of Mr. and Mrs. Jeff Register Tuesday evening. Mr. and Mrs. Major Cooke have returned home after spending the week end with her son and family Mr. and Mrs. Joe Moody and welcome to the new baby girl in Green ville, South Carolina. Mr. and Mrs. Earl Dail and family of Washington, N. C. spent the week end with Mr. and Mrs. Nolan Moore at Tuscarora. Among those who attended the Dail Family reunion Sunday at Little Creek near Ayden were Mr. and Mrs. Merril Dail, Mr. and Mrs. Robert Dail and family, Mr. and Mrs. Earl Dail and family. Mrs. Ruby Daugherty, Mr. and Mrs. Dale Dupree and family. Mr. and Mrs. Charles Oglesby and daughter Tanya and Mrs. Rice were dinner guest of Mr. and Mrs. Mark Oglesby in Kinston Saturday evening. Mr. J. Harper Wether- ington has returned to his home after being a patient in Craven County Hospital last week. Mrs. Bessie Daugherty was dinner guest of Mr. and Mrs. Pete Cade in New Bern Sunday. Mr. and Mrs. Earl Dail and family of Washington were guest of Mr. and Mrs. Robert Ipock and family Saturday evening at a cook out. Men’s fellowship The Pamlico District Christian Men’s Fellow ship will hold its next meeting at the Cove City Christian Church on Friday May 9th at 7:30 p.m. The women of the church are also invited to attend this meeting and dinner. Women’s day Women’s Day will be observed on Sunday May by Mrs. B. H. Mitchell Crowell visits New York Mrs. Dolly Crowell has returned home recently after ,((n extended visit ; with -family and friends. Mrs. Crowell first stop was to visit her sister and brother-in-law of Hillside, Maryland. Her sister, Rev. Daisy E. Wood and her brother in law Rev. Bert Wood have worked in the ministry for a long time and have built a church in Maryland with the aid of the congregation. Her next stop was to visit her brother and his wife, Mr. and Mrs. Samuel Greene of Brooklyn, N. Y. She also visited Mr. and Mrs. William Penn Mitchell in Brooklyln. N.Y. After leaving Brooklyn she stopped in New York City to visit nieces and family. They were Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Patterson and Mr. and Mrs. Tony Gardner. Mrs. Crowell started out to : visit a niece, Ms. Karen Bruce of New York, who -was a patient in the City’s Children Hospital at that time. She extended her trip to conserve energy. Mr. Aaron C. Mitchell of Bronx, N.Y. is at home spending a few days with his family and friends. He is at the home of Mr. James C. Mitchell and Ms. Alice Mitchell, brother and sister who resides near Ft. Barnwell. Mr. Ralph W. Mitchell of Brooklyn, N.Y. is spending a few days with his mother, Ms. Flora Mitchell, and sister Ms. Marion Mitchell of Ft. Barnwell. Also other family members and friends will be called on during his stay in the city. Rev. W. H. Thomas, choir and congregation of Mt. Zion Christian Church will render service at St. John A.M.E. Epworth News by Carol Gaskins Wall reunion draws 120 The annual Wall Re union was held at the Epworth Fellowship Hall Sunday May 4th. A short business session was held with Gordon Wall of Kinton elected president and Elva Matthews of Vanceboro elected Secre tary - treasurer. Mr. and Mrs. Jerry Wall of Tarboro were recognized as the only members with a new baby. A delicious picnic lunch was spread and enjoyed by the one hundred twenty two persons present. by Fannie Quimby 26th, at Bethany Christian Church. Mrs. Raye Feltner Kapornyai from the Regional Office in Wilson will be the guest speaker. All ladies of the church are asked to be prepared to take active parts in the services that day. Group I meets The Group I of the Christian Woman’s Circle met at the home of Mrs. Ruby Pate. Leader Estelle Dail opened the meeting by having the seventeen members repeat the C.W.F. Prayer. Following the devotion by Ruby Pate, Marguerite Williams gave the lessons on Buddism. Following the business session, a report was given on the Lion’s Club Supper. Ruby Pate served delicious refreshments of pimento cheese sandwiches, chick en salad, brownies, toasted pecans, potato chips, and soft drinks. Susan Cox won the door prize and Mrs. Christine Cooke invited the group to meet at her home in June. Hardison honored Mr. and Mrs. Terry Hardison and family were honored by the Beacon Free Will Baptist Church near Farmville Sunday with a pig picking and picnic observing Pastor’s Appreciation Day. Mr. and Mrs. Burl D. Hardison and Mr. and Mrs. Glen Hale of New Bern attended the services. Mrs. Christine Wether- ington and Mrs. Rose Amerson met Mrs. Sue Mosher of Milo Park, California in Kinston, Wednesday night. Mrs. Mosher will be visiting her family in and around New Bern. Reds win The Reds won in the Sunday School Contest at Bethany Christian Church recently. For their victory, the Reds were entertained with a covered dish supper by the Blues following the Sunday Morning Service. The Disciples Sunday School Class of Epworth United Methodist Church had a stewed fish supper at the Fellowship Hall Saturday afternoon. The attendance was low but reported that the food and fellowship were great. Those attending were Mr! and Mrs. Clifton Lancas ter, Mr. and Mrs. Ronald Pate, Mr. and Mrs. Sonny Whaley, Mr. and Mrs. Lloyd Wiggins, and Rev. and Mrs. Steve Hickle. Visitors to last Wednes day’s quilting included Mrs. Ollie Beaman of Jasper, Rev. and Edward Armstron^BR' New Bern, Mrs. Mildred Huff and Mrs. Becky Deans of Chocowinity. Mabel Joyner, Maxine Wiggins, Lillian Gaskins, Dora Dixon and Frances Samica visited in the Barkers Island area Thursday. They visited Mr. and Mrs. Ed Blair in Gloucester and are pleased to report that Mr. Blair’s health is improving. Mrs. Clem Reel of Greenville, is spending the week with Mr. and Mrs. Jerry Dixon. Jackie Gaskins of New Bern had lunch and visited with Lillian Gaskins Sunday. Mr. and Mrs. Lonnie Jackson and Lorraine of Jacksonville spent Sunday afternoon with Mr. and Mrs. Earle Gaskins. Weekend guests of Mr. and Mrs. Richard Gray were Mrs. Adam Lupton and Mrs. Zelphia Smith and daughter Margie of Newport. Mrs. Lupton and Mrs. Smith are Mr. Gray’s sisters.
