Jesus Christ told His disciples as they sat upon the Mount of Olives, the signs of His coming back to earth and the end of the world. He said, “But as the days of Noe were, so shall also the coming of the Son of man be." The Lord brought destruction upon this earth during Noah’s day because God saw that the wickedness of man was great in the earth, and that every imagination of the thoughts of his heart was only evil continually. Gen. 6:5. Noah warned the people, but they would not believe. They continued on as they were until the day that Noahentered the ark and the flood came. The way of safety had been cutoff for them then. The door was closed and destruction was at hand. Look at the wickedness going on today. Everyday the news is full of the deterioration of morals among mankind. We read about how Satan is using alcohol and drugs as weapons to destroy the very souls of men, women and children and the diseased, sin riddled lives these two have caused and are causing in our society today. They prey on the weakness of man and Satan knows this. We read about the abomination of homosexuality. The Word speaks of this in the last days. Unnatural affections, men abusing themselves with men and women leaving their natural affections, abusing themselves with other women. Let me tell you this is not of God, but of the bottomless pit of Hell. We hear about broken homes, divorces, remarriages, children pulled between two sets of parents and most of them never feeling the security they need while trying to grow up to be mature, responsible men and women. We can read anytime it seems where men are abusing the very young little babies, two, three years old and in some cases, even younger than that. Men robbing and raping old women, some eighty years or older. The young and innocent, the old and helpless. Abortions, all kinds of murders on every hand. Even parents killing their own children and abusing them sexually. How corrupt man has become. How evil is the day we are living in. Do you think it was much worse during Noah’s time? We should be crying out to God as a nation, to have mercy on us. Jesus Christ is coming and from the signs all around us it doesn’t seem as if it will be much longer. The world is sick with sin. Jesus Christ, the Son of God is our answer. He is the cure for all our sinful ailments. Won’t you come to Him today and let Him heal you? Dr. Beverly Perdue, Director of Geriatric Services at Craven County Hospital Corporation, will be in Ernul as guest of the Macedonia FWB Church Ladies’ Auxiliary and Laymans’ League at 7:30 p.m. on Friday, March 2, to speak to interested citizens concerning needs of the elderly in our communities. As Geriatric Coordinator, one of Dr. Perdue’s immediate concerns is to develop a community-based program which will help people, like the chronically-ill or disabled elderly, to stay at home through a coordinated system of case management. This program will provide an acceptable alternative to rest home/nursing home placement, while allowing for a comfortable and relatively independent lifestyle for elderly citizens. Dr. Perdue and her stalff will continue to work with existing agencies in Craven County for elderly services so that the coordinated effort will best benefit all citizens. Among the services to be provided are acute care hospital services, in-home health services, homemaker or chore services, day care and training and support for families and other caregivers. Craven County Hospital Corporation will also provide supportive services, including around-the-clock emergency services, and patient assessment, placement, monitoring, and follow-up. * This meeting will be held in the Fellowship Hall of the Free Will Baptist Church in Ernul. All are invited to attend. The Bible On Trial By REBA MITCHELL To Be Continued) Along the pathway of life we are digging deeper on Biblical facts to prove to our lost and dying humanity the Bible does not contradict itself. Confusion causes many to think the Bible contradicts itself. The lack of knowledge and understanding is the cause of confusion. It is not of God. God is not the author of confusion. 1 Cor. 14:33. He does not change. Mai. 3:6. Jesus Christ is the most important theme, the central figure throughout the Bible. The old testament predicts His coming to earth, and the New Testament tells of His life, death, resurrection, and predicts His second coming to earth. The spiritual rebirth is mentioned in both the Old and the New Testament. Ps 23:3, Ps 51:10,12, Ezk. 14:6, Ps, 103, John 3:3,5,7. The Annie Dixon Circle of the Vanceboro United Methodist Church met with Janice Jordan Tuesday, February 21st, at 7:30 p.m. The meeting was called to order by Beth Gaskins, Circle Chairman.
