The Bible on Trial By REBA MITCHELL Along the pathway of life we are often faced with questions of life and death. The blood is the life of all flesh. A body with disease is not pure. Removing the blood will not purify the body. The life or heart that is filled with sin is not pure. There is only one way to cleanse a sin sick heart or purify the life, that is through the blood of Jesus. Heb. 9:22-28. He that knew no sin paid the debt for us. He did not owe that debt but He loved us so much that He was willing to pay it. We owed the debt and could not pay it, if Jesus had not paid it we would all be lost with no hope for the future. Sharing Good News By DOROTHY FILLINGAME The good news from the Word of God for this week comes from Luke 24:5-7. When the women went to the burial place of our Lord Jesus Christ on the third day after he was crucified, they found two men in shining garments waiting for them. As they were afraid and bowed down their faces to the earth, the angels of the Lord asked them this: “Why seek ye the living among the dead? He is not here, but is risen!” They reminded the women how Jesus had spoken to them about these things while he was yet in Galilee. Jesus had talked to them about how the Son of man must be delivered into the hands of sinful men, and be crucified,, and the third day rise again. After the Angels had spoken, they remembered Jesus’ words. As we gather together in Christian groups this Sunday in the Church of our choice, let us remember our risen Savior. Let us remember how our Lord died for a lost world. Our Holy Father raised our Savior, His only begotten Son, from the grave. Hs is risen! He overcame death, hell and the grave. Jesus Christ is alive and sits on the right hand of God in Heaven today. Qur Lord Jesus Christ, risen from the dead, became the first fruits of them that slept. Concerning the resurrections, the Word says but every man in his own order: Christ the first fruits: afterward they that are Christ’s at His coming. I Cor. 15:20-23. Our Lord Jesus Christ has gone on before us to prepare a place for His church. He said if I go to prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself, that where I am, there ye may be also. I’m looking forward to the day of my resurrection, should I go to the grave before our Savior comes. Alive or dead, I have His promise that He will descend from Heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first: and then all of us who are alive that belong to Him at His coming, shall be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord. Do you know this Risen Savior as your hope for eternal life? If not, won’t you accept Him today, so you can be ready to meet Him on that great day of His coming for His Church? Come, follow our risen Savior all you who don’t know Him.
