Meets PAID ( ( IM l!Y I III ( A )MMI I r H I () Hi -[ I [ I I 1,1 llAi I) ANDl HS()N The Vanceboro Order Eastern Star #231 met April 18,1984 at 7:30. The Worthy Matron, Sister Clydie Nobles, assisted by Worthy Patron, Bro. James Harriett, presided. The Worthy Matron welcomed the sixteen members present. The Flag ceremony was observed. The treasurer’s report was given and the minutes were read. A special dispensation from the Worthy Grand Matron, Sister Carolyn Winchester, was read for the purpose of a late installation. The Worthy Matron introduced. Bro. James Harriett as Installing officer - Sister Carol Mills as Installing Marshall, Sister Etheleene Butler as Installing organist. After the ceremony. Brother Phillip Morris was declared installed as associate Patron of Vanceboro Chapter #231 for the ensuing year. The Sick and Cheer Committee reported on the sick members and friends. The Easter Message from the Worthy Grand Matron and the Worthy Grand Patron was read. Sister Louise Harriett approached the East and presented the Worthy Matron with a handmade gavel, that was made by Bro. James Harriett. The By-laws were read. The organist gave a reading on Easter and the Star for the Good of the Order. Sister Margaret Whaley thanked the chapter for helping with the Past Matron and Past Patron Dinner. The Associate Matron thanked the Bunny Rabbit for the Easter Baskets that were presented to all. The minutes were read and approved and the Chapter closed in regular form. Following the meeting all were invited into the Dining Hall. The table was covered with a white cloth, centered with an arrangement of yellow spring flowers.
