YLA is a mock legislative assembly where youth are given a chance to learn about legislative procedures and then actually put their knowledge Into use. Participants meet in one often committees to develop bills which are presented and debated on the floor of the mock assembly. This year we are considering the following topics as jjommittees: Violence, discri- lination constitutional ^amendments, substance Guest Lecturer Larry C.Toombs, Executive Director, New Bern-Craven County YMCA was a recent guest lecturer at the University of Richmond, School of Graduate Studies. Mr. Toombs lectured graduate students on Sports Marketing, especially, in non profit and public organiza- tions.The class Mr. Toombs lectured is pursuing a masters degree in Sports Management. abuse, animal cruelty, youth rights, environment, educa tion, human sexuality, juvenile justice, international affairs, media and governmental operations. We will be holding interviews, Saturday, November 17, 1984 in Raleigh at the Youth Advocacy and Involvment Office, 121 West Jones St., and also at the next SYC meeting which will be held November30-December2 in Wilmington. Mobile Health Van Scheduled The Mobile Health Van will be at the following scheduled locations in November, 1984: Nov. 12 - Due to the Veteran’s Day holiday, the van will be scheduled to go to Dover next month.
