► iducators of the Month Mr. Emerson Williams The New Bern-Craven County Chamber of Com merce in conjunction with the New Bern-Craven County Board of Education spotiights “Educators of the Month” for October 1984. Mr. Emerson Williams, Bioiogy Teacher at Havelock High Schooi and Ms. Annette Edwards Daley teacher at West Craven Middle School. Ms. Annette Edwards Daley Mr. Williams resides at 230 Tilton Street, Havelock, North Carolina. He received his BA degree in Biology and Master of Arts degree from East Carolina University, Green ville, North Carolina. He is faculty sponsor for the Class of 1986 as well as sponsor of the Pep Club. He is a member of Faith Evangelical Bible Church. When not involved in school or church activities you can find him either fishing or camping. Ms. Daley resides at Tara Halls Apartments with her mother. She received her BS and her MA degree in Intermediate Education from East Carolina University, Greenville, North Carolina. She is presently working on her MA degree in Supervision and Administration. She is a member of Gethsemane Free Will Baptist Church where she serves as a Sunday School Teacher. She is a member of NCAE and North Carolina Coaches Association. Her hobbies are singing, racket- ball, traveling and cross-stitch. West Craven Highlights, Novembers. 1984, Page 11 Jack Coombe Among 123 ECU Student T eachers GREENVILLE—Jack Coombe is among the 123 student teachers that are doing student teaching in area schools. Mr. Coombe is assigned to Farmville High School and is doing student teaching in Driver Education. Mr. Coombe is the son of Mr. and Mrs. F.J. Coombe of Rt. 1, Ernul. One hundred twenty three East Carolina University teacher education students have been assigned practice teaching in North Carolina public schools this semester. The intern teachers are from 41 counties in North Carolina and seven other states. Dr. Thomas A. Chambliss, director of student teaching, said each practice teacher will conduct regular classes under the direction of a supervisor and will receive a grade for performance.
