Collegiate Press Association No Bottles, No Cokes Six ounces of that “Pause that refreshes” is certainly a pick-up between these long classes and on busy afternoons with summer just around the corner. Because of the bottle shortage, the company demands that we re turn our empty bottles. Recently numbers of them have been seen in the halls and rooms. This must ' stop if we wish to keep the ma chine. It takes very little time and energy to take back the bottle when you are going to the ma chine for another coke, going to dinner, or for the mail. Return your empty bottles, all you “coke fiends,” and you will be glad you did on some of the blis tering da vs to come ! Thanks Forewarned is forearmed ! Saint Mary’s girls, always on the alert, eagerly took advantage of the tuber culosis X-ray on April 1, 2, and 3. The X-ray machine, services of which are under the sponsorshij) of tlie’Xortli Carolina State Board of Health, was stationed on Hills boro Street in front of Saint Mary’s campus. All Saint Mary’s girls were re quested to have X-rays taken during their free jieriods on the days named. About 250 students, boarding and day, had X-rays taken. Since many people die every year of tuberculosis not discovered in time to cure it, .the Belles adds its grateful thanks to those who made possible the opportunity to further safeguard the health of Saint Mary’s girls. Everyone wise enough to take ad vantage of this service is to be com mended. f^irtkdays April Susan Taylor Mary Lou Pratt -Martha Brickhouse ■Aurelia Fulton Betsy Siler Frances Isbell 20— Iris McEwen 21— Katherine Creighton 23—Roxie Ann Walters 23— Ann McMullan 24— Betty Byrnes 12- 14- 15 1!) 19- 20- Second Quarter Honor Students Are Announced low, Raleigh.
