pernian, then I go to assist Bro. G 1-
lespie. I am engo’’’ up to the first

church in a good-sized town. I go

Ordination of Brother Carl Coggio.
At the request of Palmerville Bap
tist church a presbytery consisting ot
brethren Alexander Miller, J. S. Har
ris, E. M. Brooks, and C. E. E'^warr'•^
met at Palmerv-ille the 8th day of
July, 191-1, and examined Bro. Carl
Coggin relative to h’s ordination to
the full work of the Gospel ministry.
The following were appointed officers
of the presbytery: .Alexander Miller,
Chairman; E. F. Eddins, Clerk; J. S.
Ilarfis, to offer the-ordination prayer,
C. E. Edwards, .to deliver the charg -:
.1. S. Harris, to present the Bible, and
E. M. Brooks, to preach the se>Tnon.
Quite a large crowd attended and
much interest was manifested in the
young brother. He is a promising
fellow and wo heartily commend hini
to the brethren at large.
J. S. HARRIS.
The editor went to Monroe on
Monday afeer the tif.h Sunday in May
to assist Bro. E. C. Snyder in a meet
ing at North Monroe church. We
were dstained one day in Raleigh, but
reached the meeting in Monroe in
good time. The pastor had preached
Sunday at 11 and B.ro. R.'.M. Ha'glei
at night. We held our first service
a,.onclay evening. The meeting was
interesting from, the begininng. The
crowds were the largest we have piet
for some time. It seemed that the
, entire town was interested in the
meeting. We are glad to say that
we found the church in good shape,
and everything' Very hopeful. The
Sunday school is very fine now and
from what we can see, the church is
in the best condition it has been in
for many years. This- made the meet-
' ing ver>' easy. It is so deliglffful to
aid a pastor that has the confidence
of his people. This Bro. Snyder en-
' joys to the fullest. He has a wonder
ful hold on his f lks and they d'
things. Their Sunday school and con
gregation have grown so that they
are planning to enlarge their hous“
and build a baptistry. They have the
plans- on foot now, and from the waj
-things are moving they will soon .bt
ready, to accommodate both Spnday
school and church. It was a great-jo>
to labor with such a determined peo
ple.. We do not know what-the-re
sults of the meeting were, we cannot
know .this in life, but we feel that
i many precious souls were led to the
, Christ.

! Letter From Rev. C. B. Austin.
I
Mooresville. N. 0..
June 29, 1914.
We closed a great revivab at the
Baptist church last night. The con
gregations were large and attentive
each sere-ice.
The people in the t-own and county
; were delighted to hear Rev. C. J.
I Black again. They were charmed with
I his logical and forceful gospel preach-
: ing. I have never heard a greater se
ries of gospel sermons.
1 It was a unique meeting and one in
‘ which real constructive Christian
! work was done that will mean much
, for the Baptist cause here in years to
I come.
I believe the need cf this age is
sane evangelism and when that glad
day comes we will have more loyal
church worker.s.
I 'an^ 'delighted with'the work‘hife.
We ha.ye^ many noble souls that are
' standing by the church and. pastor
with their preset - e and money. The
