constituencies of Belmont
Abbey College. It will also
attempt to provide significant

issues which affect higher
education generally, and this
college in ‘particular. The

opinion; editorial standards
aimed at will be those of
Christian ethics, good taste,
and Journalistic quality.
The Editorial Board of
Crossroads includes students,
faculty, and administration.
Additionally, several editors at
large have volunteered to cover
such areas as student affairs,
humanities, and science and
religion.

Dear Sir:
I enjoyed reading of Belmont
Abbev Alumni. I just had to say
so. I'was Editor of St. Marys
Newsletter in 1907. Gee, what a
MODERN improvement.
God has allowed me IP hve
such a happy life here on earlh
and to become one of the senior
members of Belmont Abbey (St.
Marys College then) Alumni.
My “Ladybird Marie” and I
will be married 59 years 2-9-73,
The Lord Be' Willing.

T7- Edward McEvoy is a
retired restaurant owner. He and
his wife Martha live in Pott-
stown, Penna.
’23- Timothy Toomey owns a
plumbing and heating business
in Charlotte.
’28- Donald MacGready is
Assistant to the Librarian at
Fairleigh Dickinson University.
’30- Edward Mansfield is a
manufacturers’ representative
in the San Francisco area with
Mansfield Marketing Associates.
’31- Francis Dunn is retired;
he and his wife Mae now live in
Nalcrest, Fla. It was good to see
them when they visited the
Abbey in the fall.
’34- Alvin London is an
attorney in Charlotte, where he,
Martha and their three children
live.
’38- It was nice to see Charles
Hamm when he brought his son,
a senior here, back to school.
Mahany Ray is vice-president
and sales manager for Kerr Ban
Furniture Manufacturing Co. in
Taylor, Texas, where he,
Eleanor and their three children
live.
’40- Harry Bryson is with the
U.S. Postal Service in Hen
dersonville, N.C. He received the
B.A. in chemistry from UNC-
Chapel Hill. He and Louise have
two children.
’41- Meyer Sonnebom is a
physician and surgeon of
osteopathic medicine in Wind
Ridge, Pa., where he and Loreen
and their five children live. Neil
Brobeck called Father Cuthbert
from New York in September,
the first time wo had heard from
him in many years. He is in the
circulation department of
Fortune magazine and has five
children.
’45- John Maycann has his
own business in Chattanooga,
Tenn. He and Lena have five
children.
’47- Emmett DeAvies is a
Lieutenant Colonel in the U.S.
Air Force. He and Louise have
five children. He received the
master’s degree from R.P.I.
’48- Joe Parent! is a systems
engineer with Bendix Cor
poration. He and Virginia and
their eight children live in Cocoa
Beach, Fla. Bill Lathan is a
salesman with Spartan
Petroleum Co. in Spartanburg,
S.C., where he and Billie and
their two children live. Hugh
Saunders is a captain with
Allegheny Airlines, and he and
Betty Jane and their four
children live in Springfield, Va.
Otis Collins is with Aaron James
Co. in San Francisco. After
leaving the Abbey he received
the B.S. in education at the
University of Tampa, Fla. Bob
Haygood is with Haygood Lin-
coln-Mercury, Inc. in Gastonia.
Rudy Franklin is assistant
professor at the University of
Georgia. He has his doetorae in
entomology from the University
of Me^esota. He and Clairelis
have five c^l^bren. Tom Camp

Washington. He and Mary Ann

’49- Robert Molo is president
of Molo Companies in Dubuque,
Iowa, where he and Helen and
their two children live.

’50- Kenneth Hogge is an
attorney. He, Karin and their
four children live in Hampton,
Va. Bernard Curran is branch
manager for IBM. He and Peggy
and their eight children live in
Chappaqua, N.Y.
’51- It was fun to visit with
Frank Souza, his wife Carolyn
and their four children when
they stopped by on their way
back to Columbus, Indiana,
where Frank is Director of
Personnel Management with
Cummins Engine Co.
’52- Seth Brown is assistant
territory manager for Monroe
Auto Equipment Co. in Winston-
Salem, N.C.
’53- Dan Gardner is marketing
research executive with Good
Will, Inc. in Gastonia. He and
Rebecca have four children.
Major Joe McDonnell is in
structor-pilot in the USAF
Reserve and lives in Highland,
California.
’54- John Noble teaches in
Madison Township Public
Schools. He and Joyce have four
children and live in South Am
boy, N.J.
’55-- Bill Frain is Sales
Engineer with Emjay Chemical
in Atlanta. He and Pat have
three children.
’56- Dr. Richard Spencer is the
director of Forsyth County
Department of Mental Health.
He and Marilyn and their four
children live in Pfafftown, N.C.
Robert Patterson is a podiatrist
in Asheville, N.C.
’57— Walter Tomlinson is
agency supervisor with Lincoln
National Life Insurance Co. He
and Carol and their three
children live in Belmont. Major
Joe Perry (Perez) is a dentist in
the Army, and is stationed at
Fort Penning, Ga. Ken Scott
operates Camp Grounds of
America in Kings Mountain,
where he and Doris live.
’58- James Parnell is sales
representative for U.S. Gypsum.
He and Janet and their two boys
live in Charlotte. Bill Bowen is a
psychiatric social worker at
Broome County Mental Health
Clinic. He and Virginia and their
two children live in Binghamton,
N.Y. Bill received his masters in
social work at Syracuse
