In Memoriam James Houston Matthews Class of 1940 Monastic Assignments Announced The following monastic assignments go into effect on August 1, 1973. The Very Rev. Benedict McDermott will be relieved as Prior of Belmont Abbey and made Prior at Benedictine Priory, Richmond, Virginia. The Very Rev. Bernard Rosswog will be relieved as Prior of Benedictine, Richmond, Virginia, and made Pastor of S;. Michael’s Church, Gastonia, N.C. The Rev. Gregory Eichenlaub will be relieved as Pastor of St. Michael’s Church and made Pastor Emeritus at St. Michael’s where he will continue to reside and work. Father Peter Stragand will become Prior of Belmont Abbey Monastery. Father Anselm Biggs will b(! relieved as Subprior. P’ather Kieran Neilson will become Subprior and Master of Novices. F’ather Oscar Burnett will be relieved of his duties in Rich mond, Virginia, and return to the Abbey to be full-time Chaplain to the college students (Director of Campus Ministry), with no other assignments. Father Kenneth Geyer vnll be relieved of his duties as Chaplaii of the College. Father Ambrose Keefe Vi^il! be transferred from Belmont Abbey to teaching duties at Benedictine High School in Richmond, Virginia, and also become Assistant Pastor of St. Benedict’s Church.
