Thanks for last issue of (Crossroads). It is so enjoyable to read and to bring back memories of my days at St. Mary’s College 1903 - 1908, and the old cathedral with Fr. Melehoir, O.S.B., Pastor, and Fr. Felix, O.S.B. With some of my “Old Bud dies” we served Mass for Bishop Leo Haid, Abbot and Bishop of North Carolina and others. Sunday Mass 10 a.m. was quite a treat because the girls from Sacred Heart Academy sat on one side of the aisle, we sat on the other, and there was some flirting. It was the only time we got to see girls all week. I only hope the music boxes from Germany were preserved. They were used at Christmas and Holy Days. Fr. Fred was organist and Fr. Raymond was so good he was sent to New York for lessons from the Masters. Fr. Millnery (Michael), the great architect, was one of my mathematics teachers. Sincerely Philip H. Morgan 1331 Haygood Ave. Columbia, S.C. 29205 ir Dear Sir; It was good seeing the article on Preston. The one thing we missed at the reunion was seeing people from the 59-60-61 years. A few showed up but nothing like I expected to see. I might mention one thing to you. I attended the last class reunion that was held for Catholic High past-students and found that a third of the girls had married Abbey boys, and we had our own reunion there. It might be wise to co-ordinate next meetings with their functions in order to get more Abbey alumni to come out. Looking forward to hearing more from you and CROSSROADS.
