Page 6 - CROSSROADS - October, 1973 Resident Counselors THERESE JANSSEN Therese Janssen, a native of Wisconsin, and Jack O. Breman, a native of Pennsylvania, recently assumed duties as resident counselors at the Ab- Ms. Janssen, who received her B.A. from Holy Family College, Minitowoc, Wisconsin, in 1962 and her M. Ed. from Marquette University in 1969, has also done work at the International Graduate School of Education. She is serving as counselor in O’Connell residence hall, a woman’s dormitory. Jack received his B.A. trom Clarion State College, Penn- JACK BREMAN sylvania, in 1971 and his M.Ed. from Kutztown State College m 1973 Prior to becoming coun selor in Raphael Arthur residence hall, he served as Head Resident in the department of student personnel services at Klutztown State College. A member of the National Association of Student Personnel Administrators and the American Personnel and Guidance Association, he also served in the United States Naval Reserve. A past president of Sigma Tau Gamma National fraternity, he played varsity football at Clarion State College. ABBOT EDMUND Chairman Fr. Martin Bro. Gregory Board Of Trustees, 1973-74 The Rt. Reverend Edmund F. McCaffrey, O.S.B., Abbot Or dinary of Belmont Abbey and Chancellor of Belmont Abbey College, recently announced new appointments to the Board of Trustees for the College. They are: Rt. Reverend Walter Coggin, O.S.B.; Very Reverend Peter Stragand, O.S.B.; Very Reverend Kieran Nielson, O.S.B.; Reverend Jerome Dollard, O.S.B.; Rev. Martin Hayes, O.S.B., and Brother Gregory Corcoran, O.S.B. Abbot Edmund serves as chairman. NEW FACULTY AND STAFF Fr. Oscar Returns JEANNE J. STUART Biology Department JEANNE J. STUART Jeanne J. Stuart, who is teaching in the biology depart ment, received her B.S. from. Jacksonville State University, Alabama, in 1966, her M.S. in Education from Jacksonville State in 1968 and her Ph.D. in zoology from Auburn University in 1972. Dr. Stuart came to the Abbey from Auburn University, where she was a post-doctoral Research Associate in Biochemistry. MARC SIMONS Reference Librarian she is married and the mother of three children. MARC SIMONS Marc Simons, who recently assumed the position of Reference Librarian in the Abbot Vincent Taylor Library, is a native of Los Angeles, California. He received his B.A. in Sociology from California State University at Los Angeles in 1971 and his M.A. in Library Science from Florida State University in 1972. A native of Atlanta, Georgia, His areas of specialization REV. OSCAR BURNETT Campus Ministry have been academic libraries and reference work with con centrated study in criminology. He served in the United States Army in Bamberg, Germany, and Saigon, Vietnam. Rev. Oscar Burnett Returning from Richmond, Virginia, where he taught at Benedictine High Reverend Oscar Burnett will return as Director of Campus Ministry. An attorney as well as a priest. Father Oscar taught business law and constitutional law at the Abbey for many years. Ri/llit Rev. Msi:r. h'rancisJ. Sullivan 1890- 1973 Monsignor Sullivan Dies The Abbey is sad to learn of the recent death of the Right Reverend Monsignor Francis J. Sullivan. Born December 9, 1890, he was ordained June 17, 1916 and served as Pastor of St. Mary’s Church, South Amboy, New Jersey form 1941 to 1970. The Rt. Reverend Edmund F. McCaffrey, O.S.B., Abbot Or dinary of Belmont Abbey said, “Over the years. Monsignor Sullivan sent us countless students, and even picked up the tab for many. He was a very dear friend of Belmont Abbey.
