He and Don Hatton (’69) own Associated Recruiters on Park Road in Charlotte. 63 ~ Ronnie Rogowski, his wife Eileen, and their three children, stopped by for a visit the first of August while they were vacationing in Charlotte. Ronnie is vice president of Floral Park (N.Y.) Tire & Service, Inc. LCDR Joseph Hoover is stationed in Taipei, Taiwan. ’64 - The Gastonia Jaycees dedicated and officially named their club building the David L. Gaines Memorial Jaycee Building in a brief ceremony the last of October. David was murdered in September 1972 in I s family’s downtown furniture store. Robert Montgomery students from the Abbey and Sacred Heart College. He is survived by his wife and six children. The Abbey student govern ment is sponsoring a fund drive to help defray the cost of his hospital bills. They initiated the drive with a $100 donation. James Stevens, Jr. is in the infantry officers ad vanced course at Fort Banning, Georgia. It was good to see him and his family when they stopped by for a visit in August. Eileen and Bill Falck and their two children als visited the Abbey while on vacation the last of August. Bill is assistant to the Chief Justice of the Florida State Supreme Court. Charles Hut chins is a partner in the CPA firm of Hall, Hutchins and Company in Clover, S.C. Congratulations and best wishes to Yoko Mukoyama and Frank Dowgwilla, who were married June 27 in Yokohama, Japan. Frank is a Lieutenant in the Navy. Reginald Wright is group manager of the Excise and Employment Tax Audit programs for North Carolina with the Internal Revenue Service, and he and Janice and their two boys live in Green sboro. ’66- Pat Cusick is director of the Cambridge (Mass.) E.O.C. Harry Lapham has returned to Charlotte to become general manager of the sales and service office of Paul Revere Life In surance Co. Rick Suehr is district representative for the Bureau of Business Practice and he and his wife Margie and daughter. Faith, seven years old, live in Matthews, N.C. Approximately twenty students choose this as their major each year and a remarkable number of these go on to successfully pass the C.P.A. exam. In fact Belmont Abbey graduates rank fourth in the state in this respect. About twenty percent of the accounting students work in interships during their un dergraduate program and upon graduation are in real demand by business firms. Graduates From Page 1 majored in sociology; James K. Schwab, a history major from Cherry Hill, N.J.; Patricia A. Seitz, an English major who graduated summa cum laude from Gastonia, N.C.;; Gary P. Urtz, a sociology major who graduated magna cum laude, from Mt. Holly, N.C.; Grace May-Ping Lo, a biology major from Hong Kong, China; and Frank J. Schiano, a biology major from Bethpage, N New York. Sig-Ep Receives Papal Blessing Abbot Edmund presents the formal Papal Blessing to Slg-Ep President, John Brlody. The ceremony was recorded by the local news media. The Right Reverend Edmund McCaffrey, Abbot Ordinary, Belmont Abbey, presented a formal Papal Blessing to the members of Sigma Phi Epsilon Fraternity, Lamda Chapter on the campus of Belmont Abbey College. Abbot Edmund met with Pope Paul VI on his recent visit to Rome. In that meeting he told the Holy Father about Belmont Abbey College and its students. Abbot Edmund requested a special Apostolic Blessing for the Reverend Kenneth Geyer, Chapter Moderator of the fraternity, and the brothers of the fraternity. Receiving the formal cer tification for the Blessing was Jay Briody, President of the Belmont Abbey Chapter and Father Kenneth, Chapter Moderator. Sigma Phi Epsilon is one of the nation’s largest social frater nities with headquarters in Rich mond, Virginia. Established in 1961 on the Abbey Campus, it is the largest fraternity at the college. The chapter house was once the old barn when the monastern conducted a farm. The major portion was destroyed in a fire. The present building was salvaged from the former basement. The brothers of Sig Ep em phasize community and cam pus involvement.
