They are: President, Michael Holland, a junior from Peter sburg, Va.; Vice-President, Donald Hatchett, a sophomore from Newport News, Va.; Treasurer, Bernard Scibienski, Jr., a junior from Fords, N.J.; Parliamentarian, Christopher McDonald, a junior from Kearny, N.J.; I.F.C. Representative, Kenneth Heretick, a junior from Hopewell, Va.; and Secretary Gerand Sheepan, a sophomore from Wildwo^, N.J. Phi Kappa Theta is a national social fraternity located on many American Cdlege and University Campuses. Page joins his two brothers, Mark (13) and Scott (9) amd sister Melinda (4).Nicholas Gettino is project engineer - phase arrat ra^r - with General Electric Co. in Syracuse, N.Y. ’53 - George Younginer is a partner in resort marketing of South Cardina, promoting the recreational resorts of Pinehurst, N.C., Carolina Shores at Calabash, and Lake Arrowhead above Atlanta. He also has a manufacturers’ representative agency covering the southeast, now in its tenth year. ’57 - Marine Lt. Col. Jim Mead is with the Marine Fighter At- tadc Squadr(»i 232 for training exercises in Naha, Okinawa. ’59 ~ Charles Field has been named head basebaU coach at Towson State College in Maryland, where he has been for dght years now. He has had thirty-five articles on basd)all or baskdball {H-inted in the last two years, one bode in 1974. (Congratulations, Charlie! ’60 - Congratulatims to Stan Dudko, head soccer coach at the Abbey, who was chosen for the seventh consecutive year by NAIA District 26 as the out standing coach of the year. His team also won its seventh district championshq) at the dose of the 1973 season. It was interesting to read in the paper that P^ and Don Conroy’s son Pat’s book, “The Water is Wide,” is bdng made into a movie starring Jon Voight. The movie is titled “(Conrack.” How about a letter. Peg; I still remember fondly the Wives’ Auxiliary and the Abbey wives get-togethers. ’61 - Thanks for your note and good wishes, Marjorie Drake, and for the news of Henry (see Qass of ’66). Marjorie teaches at the N.C. Orthopaedic Hospital in Gastonia. Enjoyed the long letter from Bill Ouchark which Mr. Hanahan let me read - the first communication in fourteen years! After leaving the Abbey, Bill received the B.S. and M.A. degrees in Geology from V.P.I. and is a Geophysicist with Phillips Petroleum in Bar- tlesvUle, Oklahoma. He married Anne Kyle in 1963 and they have two boys, Billy Joe, nine, and Bobby, three. Hope you discover that major oil or gas field. Bill! News BY MARY COOK ’62 ~ FaAer Paschal Morlino is associate pastor at St. Vincent Basilica and director of Addphi House, a home for homeless boys in Latrobe, Penna. He also works with teenage boys with no home or coming from deprived homes. Fr. Paschal is attached to St. Vincent Archabbey in Latrobe. Joe Mendel is vice president of Booz-Allen & Hamilton, management con sultants in New York, and presently handling their merger and acquisition group. ’63 - It was good to talk to Mike Maloney on the telephone and reminisce about the days of the “Singing Jamaicans” when Mike, Jim Caltagirone and Robbie Lighthart were the hit of the campus. Mike and Yvonne and their three children live in Bel Air, Maryland. ’64 - John Fahey, Jr. is owner of Fahey 'Travel ^rvice, Inc., and Fahey Associates, realtors based in Torrington, Conn. Bob Kelleher will enter private practice of Dermatol(^y in June in Marietta, Georgia, upon completion of military obligation in Augusta, Ga. George Lund is employed in a civilian capacity for the U.S. Army Reserve and lives in Charlotte. ’65 - Congratulations to Carrie and Glenn Boone pn the arrival of Kyle Jennifer on September 24. They have one other child - Dereck, two and a half - and Glenn is with the Corps of Engineers in Norfolk. Tom Schlunz received his Ph.D. in medieval history from the University of Illinois last June and is now on the history faculty of the New Orleans campus of Louisiana State University. ’66 - Congratulations to Wilma and Henry Drake on the arrival of Ashley Turner on December 18. ThQ? have another son, David, who was bom when Henry was a senior here at the Abbey. Henry is an attorney in Wadesboro, N.C. Joseph Daniel O’Connell is with the Foreign Service in Sao Paulo, Brazil. It was good to hear from Eileen Clarke and have news of the children, and also to see Bill, former head basketball coach at the Abbey, when he brought his team from Walsh College (Ohio) to play in our Christmas tour nament. Eileen enclosed a Yale football brochure featuring Brian, who is a senior there and Yale’s kicking ace. Eileen teaches in Shaker Heights, Ohio, where they live. Richard Zittel sells advertising for “Chemical Purchasing Magazine” and he and Kathy live in Prinecton, New Jersey. Allan Willis has been named editor of the Winston- Salem Sentinel editorial page. He and his wife and three children live in Winston-Salem. ’67 - Gregory Wessell is ad- niiiustrator - comptroller of San Sierra (California) Business Systems, Inc. in Sacramento and is taking courses toward the MBA. Joe King is systems programmer for Fairfax County Government and lives in Sterling, Va, Pan TaUey visited the Abbey ip March. He is general manager of Talley Hosiery Co. in Gastonia. ’68 - Capt. John Kelleher has been a helicopter pilot in the Marine Corps since August of 1969. He currently lives in Meridian, Miss., and is tran sitioning to jet aircraft. He was married in November 1970 to Kathleen Marie Connelly and they have one child, Shannon, aged two. Beraie Lange is with Reynold’s Metals Co, in Rich- mcxid, Va., in their production control department. He and Carolyn live in Richmond’s West End. Frederick Walz was ad mitted to the New Jersey Bar in December. Congratulations! Felipe Villalon is conversion manager for Wachovia Services, Inc. in Winston-Salem, N.C. Tommy Hirsch graduated fi'om Seton Hall Law School in January. He is now wo-king in Trenton in the Federal clerkship with Federal District Judge Qarkson S. Fisher. Russell Bayne has been elected president of the Mt. Holly Rotary Club and the Junior Chamber of Commerce. ’69 - Paul Maisano received the MBA in December from Iona College. He is still working with Equitable Life in New York City as account manager for their pension department, and at tending National Guard on weekends as a Second Lieutenant.
