The C, C, Adams Chair Of Philosophy Funded Professorship Established At BAG lAutruRt. 1874 - CROSSROADS - Paao S A funded professorship in Philosophy has been established at Belmont Abbey College by Dr. Carsbie C. Adams. Announcing this important event at the 1974 graduation exercises, Father John P. Bradley stated: “Among the many important thrusts that Belmont Abbey College must make in the area of development is the effort to provide the College with a number of funded professor ships. Understandably, this is a difficult task, since it requires the kind of generosity that prompts a donor to undertake the continuing commitment to furnish the College with the funds for a teacher’s salary.’’ Obviously pleased at being able to make this important an nouncement, Father Bradley told the audience in the Wheeler Center that the funded Chair in Philosophy would be named for its donor. The explanation, according to Father Bradley, is that Dr. Adams and a number of his close associates in the scientific community have for many years been deeply interested in the effort to promote a closer cooperation between science, philosophy, and religion in mankind’s ap proach to the understanding and solution of world problems. Everyone associated with Belmont Abbey College can certainly echo Father Bradley’s words as he presented Dr. Adams with a plaque com memorating the occasion: “All of us owe you a debt, of deep gratitude for this most significant contribution to the academic program at Belmont Abbey College.’’ ternational University in Miami.
