who is retired and living in Columbia, S. C.
’23 -- Had notes recently from Tom Lundy, Black
Mountain, N. C., Maurice Langhorne, Matthews,
Virginia, and J. L. Hiller, Columbia, S. C., all now
retired. Thanks for writing, and please keep in touch.
'38 - Our sympathy to Dr. Paul Titman, whose father
died in January, and our deep appreciation for his
thoughtfulness and generosity in commissioning the
renowned artist, Paul Sims, to paint the portrait of
Father Cuthbert. More about this later when the
unveiling ceremony is scheduled.
’39 -- George Koury is a physician in Burlington, N. C.
’40 - William (’opeland is a physician in Columbus, Ohio.
’41 -- Ben Bol)inson is a dentist in Coral Gables, Florida.
’42 -- Larry Jones stopped by for a visit just after
Christmas. He now lives in Cocoa Beach, Florida.
’45 -- It was good to see George F’it/.Simons when he
visited on December 2, the first time in many years.
He has moved from Charlotte and is now living in
Gastonia.
’49 - Hohert G. 1‘atterson is a podiatrist in Asheville, N.
C.
’55 -- Stephen .\aso is a surgeon in Charlotte.
’56 - Anthony (Chuck) Muller is a dealer system sales
specialist with Ford Motor Co. in Louisville, Ky. Bill
Hatchett is a teacher in Athens, Alabama.
’57 - Gerald Dollard is with Aetna Casualty & Surety Co.
in Richmond, Va. John Laughridge is probation and
parole officer with the State of N. C. in Gastonia.
’60 -- Congratulations to Davis Chant, who appears in the
1977-78 edition of Who’s Who in the Fast. Davis owns
his own realty company, and he, Dorothy and their two
daughters, Tamara and Holley, live in Milford, Pa.
’63 - Bernie Brennan is branch manager of Wells Fargo
Guard Services in Denville, N. J.
’64 - Kay (’loninger is secretary and assistant treasurer
of Crown Converting Co. in Lincolnton, N. C. Kd
Buttimer is an attorney in Savannah, Ga. .Nelson
Bradshaw is district sales manager of Hoechst Fibers
Industries in Charlotte.
’65 - Congratulations to Reginald Wright, who was
promoted in September from Senior Regional Analyst
with the IRS in Atlanta to Chief of the Examination
Branch in Birmingham, Alabama. It was good to s^

’66 - Eugene Deihel is a manufacturing supervisor in
Williamsville, New York. Jack MacManus teaches in |
Providence, R.I. It was good to have news of Captain
•Joe Kstridge, who is with the U. S. Army Engineers in
Saudi Arabia. Shirley and the boys are with him and 11
would love to have a long letter giving us their im-1
pressions of life in the Near East.
’67 - Frank (’hupko is a realtor in Scotch Plains, N. J.
’68 ~ Tom Mc.N'amara stopped by on his way to New
York after having lived a few years in California. He ^
has been promoted to Northeast Regional Manager for
IVAC Corporation in Health Care System sales.
’69 - Ted Fraune is general accounting manager with
Northern Telecom, Inc., and he and his wife Lyon live
in Oxford, N. C. Craig Whitt is attending dental school
in Richmond, Va. Jack Alexander is assistant pur
chasing agent with Independence National Bank and
lives in Belmont.
’70 - Charles Martin is a trainer with the Manpower
Development Dept. James Van Pelt is Executive Vice ;
President of Moore Insurance Associates in Gastonia. :
Patrick Truesdale is an electrical engineer and lives
in Washington, W. Va. Congratulations to Vicky and
Ernest Dwight on the arrival of Charles Shaw on July |
18. They have two other children, Bryan Blaise, four,
and Amy, two. Ernest owns the Southwood Cor
poration in Charlotte and built the beautiful entrance
sign at the College.

Jersey City, N. J. Charles Bush is a police officer in
Virginia Beach, Va.
’72 - Don Borghoff is a manufacturer’s representative ^
for Facet Enterprises, an air filter manufacturer, and '
is attending Fairleigh Dickinson University working
on the MBA in Marketing. James Kraus is a cost
accounting supervisor in Myrtle Beach, S. C. .Michael
Perno is an accountant in Westmont, N. J. Paul
Corhley is in the insurance business in Longwood,
Florida.
’73 - Thanks for your note, Robert Meise. He and Nadine
have t)een married for five years and have a four-
year-old daughter, Elizabeth Teresa. He has worked
in textile management in the Greenville, S. C. area for
Milliken & Co. and Dan River Mills, and became a
sales representative for American Industries, Inc. on
January 5. Good luck in your new job. Bob. Henry
(Penny) Holmes is the owner of Aquatics Company in
West Palm Beach, F’lorida. After traveling for eleven
months, Tony Sessa arrived in New Zealand in Oc
tober. He had many adventures and visited many
islands: the Galapogas, Tahiti, Figi, Pago-Pago,
Bora-Bora, and hundreds more. He hopes to continue
his journey and complete his adventure around the
world. Congratulations and best wishes to Salvatore
DeSapio and Marianna Belmonte (’77), who will be
married June 24. They will live on a 221-acre farm in
Kingw'ood Township, New Jersey where he will
engage in farming. In December he was elected
president of the Kingwood Township Republican Club.
Gerald Baker is Systems Analyst and Secretary-
Treasurer of Laxton Construction Co. in Charlotte. It
was good to hear from Pete Summers, who is in Of
ficer Candidate Schmd, U. S. Marines, Mattituck. L.I.,
New York.

Neck, New York. Mike Corcoran is with ITT in New

’75 - Fd Steiner is a graphic artist with Impact Exhibits
of South Plainfield, New Jersey. George Laharraque
has completed his Master’s in International Business
at the University of Dallas, Irwin, Texas, and is now
assistant budget director at the Organization of
American States in Washington, D. C.
’76 - Johanna Sinnott Mims is an archivist with Diamond

The ring bears two crests.
One consists of a crouching lion
beneath ten, six-pointed stars.
The lion represents Abbot Leo

U.I.O.G.D., which stands for the
Latin. “Ut In Omnibus
Cilorificetur Deiis.” Translated,
this Benedictine motto means.
