from overseas and is stationed at Homestead AFB,
Fla. Frank Gragnani is with First Merchant’s
National Bank in Richmond- Charles Bridges is
vice president of Consumer Products with Scott Paper
Co. in Philadelphia and lives in Newtown Square, Pa.
James White is senior technical representative with
Home Insurance Companies in Charlotte, and he and
his wife Marlene and son John live in Belmont.

Relations and Alumni Office.
’59 - Charles Marginot is a CPA in Springfield, Va. Bob
Condon works with the federal government in
Baltimore. Gene Manion teaches in Charlotte. Dr.
James Woods is a veterinarian in Duluth, Ga., and
lives in Norcross.
’60 - Richard Ferguson is manufacturer’s represen
tative with Raynor Manufacturing Co. and lives in
Gastonia.
’61 - Father Leo Daniels is at The Oratory in Pharr, Tx.
MaJ. Richard W. Dondero is participating in “Empire
Glacier ’78,” a U. S. Readinfss Command joint
training exercise held at Ft. Drum, N Y. He is the
commander of the 9th Tactical Intelligence Squadron
at Siaw AFB, S. C. with a unit of the Tactical Air
Command. F. C. K. Chan, of Berkeley Heights, N. J.,
has been promoted to the position of technical director
by Oakite Products, Inc. He is also currently studying
for his Ph. D. at Seton Hall University.
’62 - Tom Greene is controller of Andrews Bearing in
Spartanburg, S. C. Pete Leonard is in commercial
insurance sales in Jacksonville, Fla. Stanley P.
Norton, Jr. has been named vice president and
directw of creative services for William Cook Ad
vertising in Jacksonville, Fla.

is a systems analyst with IBM in Springfield, Va.
Richard Zittel is vice president of sales with a
publishing company and lives in Princeton, N.J.
Leonard Laye is executive sports editor of “The
Charlotte News” and lives in Belmont. Y. John Lee of
Employer’s Insurance of Wausau, has been appointed
manager of broker operations, and will be working
through Employer’s sixteen regional offices in the
United States and Canada.
’67 - George Affuso teaches in Pine Brook, N. J. Ben
Farmer is with a real estate firm in Savannah, Ga.
William Murphy is self-employed and livps in
Philadelphia. Chuck Sullivan has had another poem
published, entitled “The Going Rate.” It is included in
a recently published anthology. Contemporary Poetry
of North Carolina. Chuck is currently South Carolina’s
resident poet.
’68 - John Farris is an automobile dealer in Rocky
Mount, N. C. Ray Jason (Smith) is a street juggler in
San Francisco and has been written up in all the
newspapers in that area. Carroll Royster is a CPA and
lives in Jamestown, N. C. Oqr deep sympathy to Bill
(’68), Tom (’69) and John (’74). Adeimy, whose father
died in early January. They own and operate South
Florida Seafood, Inc. in West Palm Beach. Julio Lago
is a lawyer in Arecibo, Puerto Rico. Congratulations
to Margy (SHC’67) and Lee Prlvett on the birth of their
third child in July. Lee is a special agent with the
Secret Service and works out of the Dayton, Oh., of
fice. Herlberto Hernandez is an engineer with General
Electric and lives in Taylors, S. C.
’69 - Michael Dohn is manager of sales promotion in
(Charlotte. Chris Harlow is a property insurance
analyst in (Charlotte. John Zenir is a salesman in
Albmtson, N.Y. Ron Jayson lives., in Kyle, S.D.
Donald Elmore is an attorney in Richmond. Kevin
Smith and wife Nona and daughter Kathryn, age two,
stopped by for a visit the last of February on their way
to New Orleans. Kevin has just completed officer’s
candidate sch(x>l and is now an ensign in the Coast
Guard. He is assigned to the Eighth Coast Guard
District Headquarters in New Orleans. Kevin told me
that Lou Nappi is terminal manager for Sealand
Service, Inc. in Portsmouth, Va., where he and Cindy
(Wood, SHC’09) and daughter Laura live.
’70 - Don Falato is an elementary school principal in
Berlin, N.J. David Meade is CPA-Controller of the
Hockensmith Corpm-ation in Pittsburgh, Pa. Chris
Na -vaei is controller of Melley Energy Systems, Inc.
in Coral Springs, FI. Congratulations on the birth of
Kenneth William on November 21. John Richard
Walsh is claims supervisor with Liberty Mutual In
surance Co. in Charlotte. Stephen Bntrym is ad
ministrative operations manager with IBM in
Roanoke, Va.

Michael Holley is manager of Didio’s Restaurant, Inc.
in Chesapeake, Va. James Mason is tax auditor for
the State of Florida in Miami. Gregory Selb is a
photographer with Consolidated Foods Corp. in Akron,
Oh. Thanks for your letter, Charles Kelley, bringing
us up-to-date. After gradtiation he was a bt^er in the
Treasury Department of the State of New Jersey,
married Kathi Mataranglo 4SHC71) and Beth was
bom December 3,1977. For the past two years he has
been a buyer in the Bureau of State Use Industries
with the N. J. Department of Corrections. He. Kathi
and Beth reside in East Windsor.
’72 - Congratulations and best wishes to Father IMHchael
Buttner, O.S.B., who was ordained to the Holy
Priesthood at Belmont Abbey on February 22. He will
also serve as registrar of the College beginning in the
next academic year. Robert Kelley is a labor
negotiator with C.E. Glass Co. in Penasauken. N.J
and lives in Haddon Township.
73 - Joe Aatosek is production planner with the Bendix
Corporatici in Kansas City, Mo. and lives in Raytown.
Salvatore De Sapio is an operating engineer and
farmer in Baptistown, N.J. Humbert Fernandez is
an accountant in Springfield, Va. William Price is a
federal auditor and lives in Springfield, Va. March
Schulte is a dentist in Meridian. Ms. Robert Stache is
a sales-marketing representative in North Bellmore.
N. Y. Larry Cooe is graduate assistant basketball
coach at the University of South Alabama in Mobile.
74 - Michael Shipman is a CPA with Cherry, Bekaert ft
Holland in Gastonia and lives in Bessemer City, N.C.
Father Houston Matthews is an Episcopal priest in
Lafayette, La. David Bowers, member of a two-man
team in the Loyola University School of Law’s CUent
Counseling competitimi, has placed first in a regional
competition held in Lubboch, Tx. His team will
compete in the national finals in New York City in late
March. Lee Faizl is working in a safety and theft
investigation for Thurston Motor Co. of Charlotte.
’75 - Congratulations to Grace DiSanto, who has
received six poetry awards in the last twelve months.
She read her poetry at the William’s Qub in New York
City on December 10. Michael Haover is area
supervisor with Pharr Yarns-Stowe Mills in
• McAdenville, N. C. Daaald Smyth is in sales in
Altamonte Springs, FI. Gastava Garay is in medical
school at the University oi San Pedro de Mamnia in
the Dominican Republic. Jahu Maaca is special sales
representative for Motorola, Inc. and is working out of
Knoxville, Tenn. Jae Caffey has been accepted at
Campbell College Law School in Buie’s Creek, N.- C.,
beginning in September. Brett RoMuaan is assistant
manager at Ivey’s in Eastridge Mall, Gastonia. Chris
McDonald is a lieutenant in the Marine Corps
stationed at Camp Pendleton. He and Susan (Massari.
SHC ’76) live in-Oceanside, Ca. Roy D. Henderson
completed hiS'MBA at Nova University in June 1977
and is presently employed with the UnivCTsity of
Wisconsin, Menonomie, Wi., as an instructor. of
marketing.
’76 - Lynn Reinhardt is a medical technologist and
supervisor of the blood bank at the hospiUl in Forest
City, N.C. Robert Temple and Deborah Lampke (’77)
will be married on April 29 in the Abbey Church. Bob
works for General Medical, Atlanta, and the couple
plan to make their home in Stone Mountain, (}a.

’77 - Christopher Dux is administrative resident at
Charlotte Memorial Hospital and lives in Belmont.
Bryan Rogers is an accountant for Peat, Marwich,
Mitchell ft Co. in Washington, D. C., and lives in Rock
ville, Md. CUat Bryant is assistant basketball coach at
Gemson University, S. C. Congratulations to Robert
Isicy, who has been promoted ftom trooper to line
sergeant with the State Highway Patrol. He will be
