Brian, an alumnus of the class of ’59, is a partner in the law firm of Mayer and Mayer in Bridgeport, Conn. He was ex tremely helpful to the College through the donation of his services in obtaining a bequest to the College from the estate of Mr. Walter. We are deeply appreciate of his kindness. Other alumni and friends of Belmont Abbey College who are attorneys can also aid the College by donating their time and services. Please be aware that the College can be con sidered when an estate contains a bequest to charitable causes, to be determined at the discretion of the attorney. Attention: Former DES Members The Gamma Iota Chapter of Delta Epsilon Sigma wishes to contact former members who have graduated since the chapter was founded in 1957 by Fr. Cuthbert Allen, O.S.B. and prior to 1975. DES is a national academic honor society open to rising seniors with a 2.25 minimum quality-point aVerage. The records of the Abbey chapter were destroyed in an automobile fire four years ago, and the national headquarters does not maintain records of members who do not send change of address notifications. The headquarters, incidentally. is now located at Belmont Abbey College, in as much as Fr. Neil Tobin, our new college president,, is the society’s national secretary-treasurer. If you were an officer of DES before 1975, please contact us with a list of all the names you can remember of members during your term of office, and the date; and members please do the same. We would like to make our records as up-to-date as possible. Any information you have should be sent to Mrs. Jean Moore, DES Advisor, Belmont Abbey College, Belmont, N.C. 28012. 1978 SOCCER SCHEDULE DATE OPPONENT TIME PLACE Sept. 5 Catawba College 7:00 A 8 .WBTV Soccer Classic 6 & 8 Charlotte 9 WBTV Soccer Classic 2 & 4 Charlotte 12 Winthrop College 7:00 A 15 Melbourne F.I.T. 5:00 H 16 UNC-Asheville 2:00 H 19 UNC-Charlotte 4.00 H 20 St. Andrews 4:00 H 24 Clemson University 2:00 A 29 Emory Invitational Atlanta 30 Emory Invitational Atlanta Oct. 6 Toccoa Falls College 4:00 H 7 Pfeiffer College 3:00 A 9 Lenoir Rhyne 4:00 H 13 Rollins College 4:00 A 14 University of Tampa 2:00 A 15 Embry Aeronautical 2:00 A 20 Baptist College 4:00 H 26 Eloh College 5:30 H 28 Warren Wilson College 2:00 A 31 UNC-Chapel Hill 4:00 A Nov. 4 Campbell College 1:00 A NAIA District 26 Classical Guitarist Performs In Abbey Church Douglas James, classical guitarist of Charlotte, presented a solo concert on July 12 in the Abbey Church.
