Laura Fieselman said, “When with a significant other, Valentine’s Day can be a nice time but too much money. For those without a significant other, it tends to be a bit depressing.” She feels that there is less pres sure when you are single because you do not have to be as dedicated to celebrating the holiday. Most girls seem to really care about this holi day, even if they are without a “valen tine.” It’s just too much of a charming and fun holiday to pass up. In general, girls seem to think of it as a friendly, cute holiday, guys seem to pathetic excuse to be sappy. We conducted a survey that asked the question, “Out II^BB i Give your heart to someone spedal (not literally yuck - hello, this is not Anat/Phys!) while more see it as a of the three words: sweet, stress, and sex, which one comes to your mind when Valentine’s Day is men tioned?” One hundred males and one hundred females from the NCSSM gene pool were poled, but since our school feels that lie detectors are an invasion of personal rights, there is no way of assuring the validity of stu dent responses. Surprisingly, sweet is the most common answer for both gen- d e r s . Equally surprising, sex was not off the charts for the males. Reminder: personal responses were not tested for validity. The red rose, a sign of beauty and love, may not be seen excessively on campus this Valentine’s Day. The cause may be a monetary deficiency in many pockets. If you are deficient there are less expensive alternatives. Give your heart to someone special (not literally, yuck- hello, this is not Anat/Phys). The heart is historically known as the center of all emotions, and will always remain an eternal symbol of perpetual love. V-Day Restaurant Ideas and Advice from The Three Little Pigs David Kincaid, Brian Phelps, et al. While sitting in a restau rant at Northgate one day dur ing lunch in the middle of the blinding snow and ice storm (ok, not really, but you get the idea), we wondered how best to inform others and ourselves about local restaurants.
