Trendy Fall 2007 Looks for the Style-Conscious Scholar

Clothing trends change from year-to-year. Last
year’s back-to-school apparel for girls ranged from
flats and cardigans to billowing peasant tops and
strappy sandals. Boys trends spaimed from the
classic pique polos and sperry topsiders -- to printed
hoodies and pumas. So what’s new on the menu for
this incoming school year? And, what styles remain
popular and prominent?
For girls, skin-tight skinny jeans and leggings
are on high demand at local stores such as Charlotte
Russe and Urban Outfitters. Babydoll dresses and
shirts have become a staple in every closet. In terms
of footwear, previously popular mid-shin length
boots have been supplanted by cute leather ankle
boots. Ballet flats and slippers remain a favorite of the
back-to-school crowd. Matching totes and oversized
handbags are a necessity! To top off the look. Incite
jewelry, such as big bangles and earrings, can be
found for cheap prices and in an assortment of colors
that complement any outfit — at clothing stores like
Forever? 1 and H&M.
For boys, printed graphic tees from stores like
Nordstrom have become a fad. Edgier graphic T-
shirts can be purchased at online shops such as the
well-known Threadless.com. Shoes like Converse
All-Stars, Crocs, Clark Wallabee’s, and Pumas remain
in popular demand. Dark-rinse and faded denim are
essential to any wardrobe. Accessory options range
from leather embossed and embellished belts to
designer watches.
Trends for the fall season can be found on every
store rack. Neutral colors - such as beige, brown,
grey, and black - can be supplemented with patterned
clothing to add personal flavor. As the sununer
weather slowly grows cooler, the fashion-forward
and budget-concious have enough autuiim apparel
selection in stores to create individual style.
