Over 80 clubs available for students at NCSSM
By: Ashley Jernigan & Caroline DeSaussure
Clubs on campus are great
for relieving stress and meeting
new people with common
interests. There are dozens of
clubs that vary from academic-
related topics to arts
and cultures clubs.
• The annual NCSSM
club fair will be held
on August 20th in the
PEC this year. The
club fair gives students
the opportunity to learn
about the clubs that
are available and sign
up for the clubs that
interest them.
RLA Rebekah Wells
stated, “The thing I
was most impressed
with when coming
to NCSSM was the
number and the variety
of clubs on campus. If
you think of a club that
doesn’t exist yet then you can
create it.”
NCSSM clubs are imique
because they are very flexible.
Students have the opportunity
to create a club centered on any
topic they are interested in.
Throughout the school year,
clubs participate in a variety of
activities. Some clubs compete

2011-2012 clubs.

in serious competitions, while
others simply have casual
meetings. Juniors are
often told to manage
their time wisely,
and while clubs are
important it is necessary
to make sure you have
time to invest into the
clubs you commit to.
Certain clubs give
you the opportunity
to not only have fun,
but to learn new skills.
The Speech and Debate
Club, Future Business
Leaders of America, and
multiple others have
seminars that coincide
with the club. This
allows students to learn
about specific topics
related to that particular
club. Courtesy of Aakash Gandhi
