We have the best boys’ team in so why shouldn’t we have a j team. Come on, some of who have never gone out sport in your High School can’t you give up a little b)‘ time for your school? ow about know we the state =ood girls you girls for any career, • of your the LINCOLN ESSAY MEDAL It has been several months since the Lincoln essays were Wiitten and up to this time no announcement of the winner has been made These papers have lain in the principal’s office ever since they were turned in and dust is probably collecting on them now. This delay in judging the papeiij seems inexcusable al though there may be some very good reason for it. I think, and I voice the opinion of many others, that it is time to do something about this, unless this medal Is mean: to be a commencement gift to some one. How about a little action. We need it. A STUDENT. ners who were asked to stand up in front. If the students .showed as much "pep” in going out for school activities we could win just about all of the cups given to the high schools in North Carolina. One cup is worth more toward stim ulating school spirit than forty lec tures or articles in the Lexhipep. boneiiead s.allies (Tills Is the newest out—and worst) The Lexhipep—published every two weeks or thereabouts. Usually thereabouts. The High School couldn’t get over the shock of a Lex hipep on time. This paper has ceased jiublishing articles of a slandering di.sposition Since then, things have been as dead fis \ve feel these days. Washington looks gotod, but it would look better if I had my thirty plunks saved up. rn broke a long time. This is known as the B. S. column, and lives up to its name. “ONE CRYING NEI D” A period in the library these days, is like the home of the deity. Since our track team did rot score a single point in the state meet it is high time that the students and teachers wake up to the crying need of a good track team. Also, the townspeople should coopera,e in this project. It will be necessary, in order to have this winning team, for our boys to secure track sli-ies some where. The need of them was dem- onsti^ated especia)(ly at Chapel Hill because our boys were handicapped. L. H. S. should put out an effective track team next year and ihe sooner W'o realize this fact and get to work with the determination and vim nec- e.ssary to do this, the better off we will be. The last issue of the Lexhipep will be our Senior issue, with a white cover and green lettering. (Green and White are Senior colors). I hain’t got nothing” more to say, in other words the fountain of my expostulations is dried up. B. S. SPECIAL. ’Tls such a pity that some of our boys were arrested at Chapel Hill. "Whoopee”! Mr. Cowles will again pilot our ship of study. “ALVTIIEMATICS’ We are especially proud of our arti cle in this issue on Pythagori.s because it is the first of its kind in our paper. Then, too, it reminds us of the old Greek civilization before the. days of Plato and Socratees. and causes us to reflect upon the Influence Pytha goras had On Greek cosmogony. We hope that many similar articles may be received in the future not only from the mathematics depa.";ment but from all of the other departments as well.
