ILA LEOXAUD Statistics, ’25. ‘‘Yet life is life”. Ha is one of these girls who “get there”, but don’t kick up much dust traveling. To those who know her, she is a very lovable girl and there is no doubt that she has a number of friends in L. H. S. LESTER SHEETS “Should auld acquaintance be for got”. Lester has been with us foi a long time, and we would have a hard time trying to do without him. He’s been a good member of the class, and de serves commendation for his work. WIIiLIE KOOXTS “The early bird catches the worm”. It’s a known fact around school, that what Willie says she means. Her determination will carry her tar. Be sides this, Willie is a “never failing light” when it comes to studies, and she admits she likes Davidson. STEPHAXIE BRAGAW “Steph” Lexhipep staff, ’25; Class poet, ’25; Class vice-president, ’22; Statistics, ’25; Debating team ’25; Literary team (ready writing), ’25; Director Dra matic Club, ’25. “She is merry, she is clever”. Steph was a freshman with us, and then for the next two years she went away to New Orleans and '.o Washing ton. But she couldn’t resist the calling of the “old town”, so she is back with us this year. We think a lot of Steph, and she has distinguish ed herself in a great many ways. As a worker, she is incomparable. She’s going to Peace. MADGE McCARX Glee Club, ’23, ’24; Mar.shal, ’24. “The only way to have a friend is to be one”. Madge’s lovely voice is qmte an as set to the fame of ’2 5. It seems that Madge is partial to Chapel Hill when it comes to schools, but we are par tial to her when it comes to good dis positions. Madge is true blue. RICHARD WAIaSEU “DUk” Manager tennis, ’25; Lex.Tipep staff, ’22, ’23, ’25; Class historian, ’25; President Senior Dramatic Club, ’25; Cla.ss president, ’23; Hi-Y, ’25; Glee Club, ’25; Marshal, ’24, Alpha Zeta, ’25; secretary (1); Statistics, ’23, ’25; Debating team, ’24, ’25; Orchestra, ’25. “He has achieved succes.s, who has lived well, laughed often, and loved much”. From the above list of achievements it may be seen that Dick is the popu lar fellow who is a leader in school work, and all activities. He’s going to State next year, and we wish him the best of success. COBXEIilA PLEASANTS “Knee” Alpha Gamma, ’25; Track, ’25; Sta tistics, ’25. “No one reaches a high position daring”. Cornelia has the rep of being quite a flirt around Lexington. (we hear no dissenting voices). Suliicient to say “Knee” has many warm friends in L. H. S., both boys and girls, who would do anything for her. It is re ported that she has chosen as her vocation “Lessons in Vamping”. H.\ZEL LAXC^VSTER i’liiink” Track, ’24; Glee Club, ’24. “Not exactly afraid of work, but rather not be Intimately associated with it. Hazel is a boy of mild spirit and strong determination. He has been loyal to L. H. S. and our expectations of him are great. M.\BLE CECIL Glee Club, ’23, ’24, ’25. “Meet trials with smiles and they vanish; Face cares with a song and they flee”. Last year, we were about to lose Mable to a certain young man, but at the beginning of the S5nior year, we were delighted to see that she had decided to prolong her stay in our class. Her attractive personality has won for her many friends during her L. H. S. career. S, Recently, she has been developing her vamping ))owers, and in this she is aided great ly by her beautiful curls and her winning smile. And ever lived on earth content”. “Pat” is ready to help you in any thing, at anytime. Being in love, doesn’t hinder your other duties, judg ing from “Pat”. He’s known as a steady worker.
