April 25, 1947 THE LEXHIPEP Page 7 MOVIE CHATTER —Adele Tuttle Uncle Remus, Brer Pox, Brer Rabbit, Brer Bear, music, technicolor, and enjoyment galore are the promises for you, if you attend the Auditorium Theatre Monday and Tuesday, June 2 and 3. Yes, the delightfully different Disney cartoon with real live actors in “The Song of the South” will be shown. Against a background of the old South, the lovable Uncle Remus tales are set. All of your favorite characters will come to life under the famous Disney hand. Luana Patten and Bobby Driscoll are the live actors along with James Baskett, who is a perfect Uncle Remus. (RKO) Do you like airplanes, handsome men, two pretty girls, and a love story? Well, “Blaze of Noon” is your picture. From the book by Ernest Gann, this is the story of four men who risked their all—love and life—to fly the first mails through. This picture is a story of the flying MacDonalds, who flew the mail route in 1925. Sonny Tufts, Sterling Hayden (remember “Vir ginia”?), William Holden, and Johnny Sands (keep your eye on him) are the four men, and Anne Baxter is the girl who loved them On Monday and Tuesday, May 26 and 27, you’ll also see William Bendix and Jean Wallace. (Pajamount) It’s a delightful story of a small-town boy who did things in a big way for his townsfolk, only he didn’t quite realize it. It’s Jimmy Stewart in “It’s a Wonderful Life,” and helping prove it are Donna Reed, Thomas Mitchell, and Henry Travers (as an angel) on Monday and Tuesday, May 12 and 13. This wonderful picture will give you the Christmas spirit in springtime. (RKO) Have you often wondered why “Nora Prentiss” won’t talk? Then, find out on either Thursday or Friday, May 8 or 9. This is a moving drama of what happens when the routine life of a respectable doctor (Kent Smith) is disturbed by falling love with a singer (Ann Sheridan). As Miss Sheridan’s old flame in this story of heartbreak and love is Robert Alda. Bruce Bennett is also in this I-won’t-talk picture from Warner’s.' “Love Laughs at Andy Hardy” on Monday and ’Tuesday, May 5 and 6. Mickey Rooney is the star. (MGM) Other hits coming to the Auditorium Theatre in May are “Night in Para dise” *for the last time we hope), “Mr. District Attorney,” “The Angel and the Badman” (a John Wayne and Gail Russell western), “The Strange Woman,” “The Mighty McGurk,” and (please don’t fait) again “The Chase.” Take your pick. I think they all sound good. The Parade of Hits Coming To —the— PHONE 453 or S/2 Sot. Late Show Sot.
