Alumni News
—^Enid Ayers
There will be soon commencement
exercises all over the country. L. H. S.
will be sending her graduates out
into the world to college or to work,
but there will be some L. H. S.
Alumni who will be graduating from
college.
Dick Peeler and Becky Leonard will
bid farewell to Catawba this June.
Greensboro College seems to be
losing three of her prize- seniors this
year. They are Jeanne Williamson
Wall (who incidentally was in Who’s
Who in American Colleges), Betty
McCrary, Johnnie’s big sister, and
irearl hege Reynolds.
Duke loses one of its lettermen this
year of whom L. H. ,S. is very proud.
Fletcher Wall, Jeanne’s husband, fin
ishes at Duke this year.
Clemson’s Tigers will lose one of
the test lootball captains that they
have ever had. “Chip” Clark, who
also starred on the L. H. S. team,
will bid farewell to Clemson this year.
When the commencement exercises
are field this year at W.C.U.N.C. Anne
White will be receiving her diploma.
From Wake Forest, L. H. S. will
have one of its former football stars
to graduate, Joe Tate.
Meredith will lose one of its su
perlatives this summer, and she is
none other than Lexington's Jean
Griffith.
For the first time in quite a while
a Lexington Hi Alumni will gradu
ate from William and Mary. Betty
Dillon will receive her diploma from
this historic college in June.
Last but certainly not least, Caro
lina will lose one of its greatest per
sonalities of all time. Ed Easter, who
is well known in Lexington, will re
ceive his degree in Music and Dra

this summer are Enid Phillips and
Ann McLendon, Mary’s big sister and
graduate of Meredith, will receive her
degree in Library Science.
Needless to say, in addition to her
118 graduates, L. H. S. is exceedingly
proud of her alumni college grads.
