Page 16 THE LEXHIPEP May 23, 1947 A. Sapp’s Fibbles BY A. SAPP Musgrave: Why do men always prefer blondes? R. Thompson: I don’t know; why? Musgrave; Because the blondes know what men prefer! Waitress: I have stewed kidneys, boiled tongue, fried liver, and pig’s feet. Bill Cook: Don’t tell me your troubles, sister. Give me chicken pie. Mr. McKay; Another bite like that and you’ll leave the table. Woody; Another bite like that and I’ll be finished. Harold L.: Next to a beautiful girl, what do you consider the most interesting thing in the world? Bob Peeler: Brother, when I’m next to a beautiful girl I don’t bother with statistics. Sue H. (gushingly): Will you love me when I’m old? Bill E.: Love you? I shall Idolize you. I shall worship the ground your little feet walk on: I shall—say, you aren’t going to look like your mother, are you? If Little Red Riding Hood lived today, The modern girl would scorn her. She only had to meet one wolf. Not one on every corner. Marriage has been likened to a bathtub full of hot water—after a while it's not so hot. Horse sefise is that added sense a horse has that keeps him from betting on people. A. J.: What’s that cat’s name? DeNeale: Ben Hur. A. J.: How’d you happen to choose that name? DeNeale: We called him Ben till she had kittens. Three young men had got to the boasting stage. Pockets: Look at me. I’m six feet two and a half in my socks. Streetman: Maybe, but I’m six feet four and a half with my hat on. Bill Johnson: And 1 can beat the lot of you. I’m seven feet nine—with my umbrella up. Becky: Oh, Doctor, will the scar from my operation show? Doctor; That, young lady, is entirely up to you. Hubert: What did the doctor say was the matter with you? Enid: He said I was suffering from acute indiscretion. The next generation should be Grade A, since it will come from regis tered fathers.
