Did the noise disturb you?” Mother: “No, Jane, it wasn’t the noise—it was the silence.” DEFINITIONS Mulched Cow—A chocolate ice cream drink made with milk taken from an unwilling cow. Barlesque—The nightclub antics of people who have drunk too much too soon. Fool’s Gold—Blonde hair. Fan Mail—Letters to fan dancers. Pupsodent—A toothpaste for young dogs who want to keep their bites as good as their barks. Benny: What's a bachelor? Pete: A guy who didn’t have a car when he was in high school. Jaybirdiere Me.: Why is a long skirt like a sailor on shore leave? Harold Carteriskivitch: Long time no sea. Jimmy Poston says that the new book means that men will have to look twice as hard to see half as much. Maulin Monk says that a lot of people claim that the high cost of living is holding up a lot of marriages. But Dillon says the new long dresses ain’t helping any either. When teaching a girl to pucker for a kiss, which is better, to have her say, prunes ,peaches, or alfalfa? Johnny Bivins: “Why do they call you a yes girl.” Girl Friend: “I simply don’t no.” Sweet Young Thing: “You promised me you’d marry me if it was the last thing you ever did.” Johnny N.: “Well—er—there are a lot of things I want to do first.” Photographer: “Now smile and watch the little birdie.” Smart Brat: “Just you pay attention to your exposure time, adjust your lighting, and set your lens so you don’t ruin that sensitized plate.” If you don’t like these jokes, come in to Mrs. Hedrick’s room after school and read the ones she throws in the trash can. Quill and Scroll Holds First Meeting The first Quill and Scroll meeting was held Thursday night, November 20, in the LEXHIPEP room. The pres ident, Zacky Taylor, called the meeting to order, a project for the club was discussed at length. The project de cided upon was to clean up the foot ball trophies and to build a new cabi net case. After conclusion of the busi ness, the program was made in the form of talks on journalism. After the meeting a feed and a dance were held in the LEXHIPEP room, which all members enjoyed.
