S. won by a double score, 61 to 30, while the boys didn’t do quite so well by dropping their game 41 to 33. Swaim was again high scorer for the girls’ team by sinking 25 points. H. Bruton was next with 15, Hixson also had 15 for Albemarle. In the boys’ game Crow was high for the Jackets with 12 while C. Whit- tey hit 12 for the visitors. Jackets Split With Asheboro; Girls Win By Large Margin On Tuesday night, January 23, here at Lexington, the Jackets lost a thrill ing ball game to Asheboro by the score of 64 to 56. This was probably the best game seen by the Lexington fans this year, even though it was in favor of the visiting team. York, an out standing athlete in both basketball and football, and one who made all- state in both last season, scored 36 points to lead both teams in scoring. Don Furdee, who was unable to play in several contests because of an in jured ankle, was high scorer for the locals with 22 points. The local girls won by the score of 73 to 61. Swaim, who is establishing quite a reputation throughout the state as a high scoring threat, increased her average by hitting for 34 points. H. Bruton was also among the top scorers with 26 points.
