March 30, 1951 THE LEXHIPEP Page 3 I t j^^HOUNcmc Cx, —Ruth A. Woodlief Hi, all you good people; are you ready for April showers yet? Judging from the above picture, Mr. and Miss L. H. S., Nancy Swing and Charles Hill, some folks look good in sunshine or rain. And they have a couple of dandy “April Fools” planned, so all of you better watch your steps! “Hinge” had planned to let the air out of “Lil’ Wag’s” tires, oh-h, will he be mad!! “Chas” was goin’ to plant a tear gas bomb in the lab so we’ll have a holiday! (Goodie-goodie!!) Nancy is one of the cutest gals in L. H. S. She was chief of the Cheer leaders this year, and she’s in the Tri-Hi-Y, and Beta Club We know shell make a real hit at W. C. next year, and attain her highest ambition; to be always happy and gay. She might not have too much time for her favorite pastime, sleeping; but she’ll make up that by the dancing, which she loves, and the historical novels in the library. Maybe she can even go to Crescent Beach for her spring vacations, which is where she had the best time of her life; and eat spaghetti and meatballs, her favorite meal! The only things “Hinge” doesn’t like are: getting up in the mornings (how unusual), carrots, and cartoons at the movies. Her weakncsses'are: clothes, sleeping ALL the time, and procrastination! Her favorite type of date is one who is a good conversationalist, understanding but not henpecked (?!?) and fun to be with!! Her favorite songs are: “Laura,” and “Someone to Watch Over Me.” We will now leave “Hinge,” temporarily, and interview Mr. L. H. S., “Chas” Hill! He likes Ford convertibles, football, strawberry shortcake, and would like to spend a lot of time away from here! (Shame on him; I bet the Chamber of Commerce loves that!!) He doesn’t like asparagus, or carrots; and he dislikes love scenes in the movies!! (Imagine!) “Hill” is such a popular guy in L. H. S. that he was one of our Tri captains for football this year, is President of Quill and Scroll, and a member of the Beta Club, Hi-Y, and Key Club. He is also on the Business Staff of the LEXICON. He intends to enter Carolina in the fall, and we are sure he’s bound to make a success there. Since the best time he ever had was at Lenoir-Rhyne, he’ll probably like college, although his favorite pastime— sleeping—will have to be entirely secondary. Hill’s favorite song is “Would I Love You?”; his weakness is girls, and his favorite type of date is the “Arlene Dahl” type! (Wow!!) So—you two happy-go-lucky people, rain or sun, you’ll go places just the same, and L. H. S. is proud of you now—and then! Let^s Have An Interview —Betsy Stoner Everyone has thought at one time or another of what she would consider an “Ideal Person.” First let’s ask Betty Lou Whitt all about her ideal boy. “Whitt’s” ideal boy must be about 5’9” tall and have a good physique. She wouldn’t take anything less than one with blonde hair with a crew cut and blue eyes. She thinks that he would look better in a navy double breasted suit, light blue shirt, navy tie and navy suede shoes. He must have a good personality, be witty, and like the same things and the same people that she likes. Yes, he must be sweet, but not too sweet; and her pet peeve would be for him to gripe all the time. ’The only trouble is that she hasn’t met him yet! Yes, this cute girl is Faith Craven, better known as “Dolly.” Her fellow must be about 5’8” tall with a good physique. She also likes blue ;yes and blondes with crew cuts. Faith thinks that he would look best in royal blue pants, and a light blue shirt. He’s got to have a good personality, not conceited, or a show-off. And above all, he must not brag about limself. Faith hasn’t met this boy, either, but she’s still looking and I hope she finds him! Next we have Paige Sink. Paige’s ideal is a little different from the first two. He must be about 5’9”, weigh about 160 pounds, and have brown hair and blue eyes Paige thinks that he’ll look best in a navy blue shirt and light blue pants. Like all the others, he must have a good personality, be polite, not too witty and not too reserved, and mustn’t brag about himself, either. Her pet peeve is for a boy always to be cracking jokes and laughing at his own. Paige hasn’t found her ideal either, but like the others Tm sure that she will. This cute blonde gal is none other than Eve Hargrave. Eve has a good .dea of her ideal, too. He must be somewhere around 6” tall and weigh about 175 pounds. He has brown hair and brown eyes. She thinks that he looks best in black pants and a light blue cashmere sweater. He’s easy to get along with, witty, and sweet, too. She would hate for him to be conceited. Yes, Eve has met her man, but she won’t say anything else about him. Good luck, gal! as Last but far from the least is Miss Nancy Rose Swing, better known Hinge”. ‘Hinge’s” fellow can’t be an inch less than perfect. He’s about 5’ 9” and weighs about 170 pounds. He has blonde hair and in a crew cut, and blue eyes. He looks best in a navy cashmere sweater and navy pants. He must like to dance, go to the lake (or the beach maybe, “Hinge”?) in the summer. He must be sweet, but not too sweet, and interesting to talk to. “Hinge’s” pet peeve about a boy is for him to be hen-pecked or an extreme party boy. (Ahed!) “Hinge” says that she’s met him, but further information would be making her tell her secrets. So, all I’ll say is that I hope that she sees him again very soon! Well, boys, now you know what type these girls want. I wouldn’t be a bit surprised if half the high school male population of Lexington would come to seshool Monday with blond crew-cuts. daCOTah COTTON MILL LEXINGTON, N. C.
