Open House Enjoyed By Du Pont Employees and Their Guests More than 3,000 people came to visit our plant during the two-day “Family Day” and “Open House” on June 21-22. “Family Day” was planned so every employee was host to his family while they toured the areas, saw the displays, demonstrations, and partook of refreshments. Pappa had an opportunity to show the children and his wife where he works and tell them what he does. Exhibits depicted the past, present and future of the Brevard Plant. Product displays featuring our x-ray films and other DuPont products were explained by guides from the various areas. Door prizes were given every hour on both days and several happy employees took home prizes in addition to their Board of Directors’ Safety Prize . . . . . . The children enjoyed pinwheels, paper hats, helium- filled balloons, ice cream, cookies, and soft drinks. Play areas were busy spots. Giant rubber kick balloons fascinated the children who bounced them about like beach balls. In the tents, the models of the plant and the Chemical Magic Show drew a lot of attention. The automobile reaction timer was a favorite of the young folks. Everybody’s tour soon came to a stand where complimentary refreshments provided a pleasant pause . . . jit * ‘\ Ramona and the children look for Gra- Jackie Hall, Laboratory Technician, shows the magic of nylon creation, ham Grant’s safety prize.
