Since the last issue of FOTOFAX, six more employees have had their names drawn, and have correctly identified that week’s slogan. (Many others were called but failed to give the correct answer.) SELDON WALDRUP, General Mechanic of the Main tenance Department took the Safety Fact home and his wife correctly revealed that: Approximately 9,000,- 000 people per year are temp orarily or permanently disabl ed in off-the-job accidents. WAYNE D. OWEN, Ser vice Operator, B-shift, Finish ing, correctly revealed the fact: December 1967 saw 4 Brevard plant employees in volved in off-the-job injuries. One of these was a fatality as a result of an auto accident. BILLY JOHNSON, C & S Operator, B-shift, gave this slogan: Strive for the greatest Safety Prize — the development of the will to be safe. FRANK LIGHT, Power Supervisor of the Power & Grounds Department, had taken the fact home, and when called his wife stated: Fires cost approximately 12,200 lives each year. Many of these occur around Christ mas from the Christmas dec orations. GA YLORD RANDOLPH, Casting C-shift Group Super visor, revealed that: Alcohol is the leading factor in as many as half the fatal vehicle accidents. LARRY LOWE, Coating Relief Supervisor, was in-the- know and correctly stated: Ice is twice as slippery at 30 degrees as it is at 0 de grees. Special care should be exercised when driving under icy conditions.
