UNITED FUND SOLICITORS KICKOFF PLANT
DRIVE AT BREAKFAST MEETING . . .
Early rising plant solicitors from all areas attended a breakfast in Bre
vard to kick off the 1971 United Fund Drive. As the photos on this page show,
they did some serious listening and thinking about how we can help meet the
needs of our communities.
“If you don’t do it, it won’t get done’’ is the watchword of the 1971 United
Fund appeal. In keeping with this theme, Du Pont employees have a community
wide reputation for helping to “get things done" through their united concern
and contributions for needy agencies.
This years’ co-chairmen are Ray Miller (Transylvania County) and Bill
Buell (Flenderson County). They cited 100% plant participation as this year’s
major objective along with a $12,700 contribution goal.
In establishing the 100% participation goal, the co-chairmen felt there was
no one employee on plant roll who didn’t want to better the community where
he or she lived. And since all United Fund agencies bring community betterment
in some way, each employee has a chance to discharge this responsibility by
giving the United way.
As in the past, contributions will be conveniently handled by payroll de
duction. The annual plant campaign will last from October 13th through the 27th.
