Plant United Fund
Drive to Begin Oct. 5th
The 1971-72 Brevard Plant
United Fund Campaign will begin
October 5th and last 10 days. This
years’ goal is $19,100.
Plant and construction employ
ees contributed a combined total of
$18,643.11 (separate from the corp
orate gift) last year. We need to beat
this figure by an amount to provide
our share of the increase in local
county budgets.
Transylvania, Henderson, and
Buncombe County agencies are in
cluded in this years’ distribution .of
employee contributions. Payroll deduc
tions for Buncombe County residents
have been added based on employee
requests last year. In addition, we will
have available more frequent payroll
deductions (1, 3, 6, 9, and 12 months
versus 1, 6, and 12 last year).
Sixty-seven solicitors from all
plant areas underwent training ses
sions in mid-September to learn about
the mechanics of the plant campaign
and review the needs of worthy com
munity agencies included in the three
county budgets.

LET’S BEAT LAST YEAR’S TOTAL GIFT!
Letter From Jack . . .
Dear Fellow Employee:
The annual Brevard Plant
United Fund campaign to raise
funds to support community ser
vice and charitable organizations
for the year 1972 will begin Tues
day, October 5. The plant is con
tributing to the Transylvania, Hen
derson, and Buncombe County
United Funds and is making time
available for solicitors to make
individual employee contacts.
Your gift may be given to either
the Transylvania, Henderson, or
Buncombe County United Fund
through payroll deduction.
We, who enjoy good health
and have a good job, share in
an obligation to assist those less
fortunate in our communities, to
provide wholesome activities for
our youth, and to support those
other necessary agencies which
contribute to our community bet
terment. How much each of us
contributes is a matter for per
sonal conscience. It is important
that all employees accept this
civic responsibility and contri
bute an amount sufficient for
these agencies to do a good job.
Starting October 5, you will
be asked by one of your fellow
workers to make a contribution
or a pledge to one of the United
Funds. We believe these worth
while community projects deserve
your thoughtful consideration and
generous support.
Sincerely yours,
J. C. Dense
