Recreation Lake Location in View Construction of the new 17-acre recreation lake west of the Plant is progressing slowly but surely. Much of the ground cleared for the lake bed is now visible from the Plant entrance road. Filling of the lake awaits com pletion of three projects. 1) Clearing a channel and laying overflow conduit. 2) Cutting reamining brush and disposal. 3) Building the earth dam. Work parties are still needed to finish cutting brush. See Ken Grogan to schedule these parties. Free lunches are provided in the cafeteria for these volunteer workers. Road Opening Delayed by Weather Mother nature must have snapp ed her fingers several times at the new Hendersonville access road. Resulting bad weather has caused excess ero sion on the road surface and embank ments. Repair of the damage will add an additional 3 to 4 weeks to the job. Scheduled completion now looks like August 1st instead of July 1st. McCrary Stone Service of Ashe ville has completed rock crushing for the roadbed. The road contractor, Asheville Contracting Co., will begin stoning the roadbed as soon as final grading is complete. Paving will follow.
