OUPONT cnonex4 BREVARD PLAIMT (glTPlD fOTOFAX ONEX Vol. 8, No. 4 E.l. Du Pont De Nemours & Company, Inc., Brevard, N.C. September, 1975 PLANT UNITED FUND CAMPAIGN IS OCTOBER 1-15 The Brevard Plant United Fund campaign will be October 1-15. Kickoff breakfasts, to explain solicitor goals in helping to raise the $32,000 Plant goal for 1976, will be held September 29th in Brevard and September 30th in Hendersonville. Co-chairmen for the Plant drive are Elmer Buller of Engineering Services (Henderson County) and Bill Huters of Process Control (Transylvania County). Lucy Stewart has been hired to handle clerical chores. The Plant United Fund chairmen have the following comments concerning the 1976 drive . . . "All you have to do is look at the list of agencies supported by United Fund dollars to fully appreciate what your contributions are doing for your community." "Each of us might see different things. We see deserving programs to support our young, our aged, and for those in need. We also see agencies involved getting direct support from within the community completely independent from political and taxation structures." "Many of us have benefited in one form or another from the generosity of other people in some periods of our lives. There comes a time for us to share our good fortunes too in the spirit of good stewardship. A real and effective way is the United Fund." Area solicitors will approach all employees for contributions during the 15-day drive starting October 1st. These contributions can be in cash, check, or payroll deduction starting January, 1976. He became eligible to join by escaping injury through wearing a lap belt and shoulder harness in an accident in early June. His car was struck on the front right side at an intersection in Daytona Beach, Florida. It did a complete loop while traveling over four lanes of oncoming traffic and ended up on a sidewalk. Bob says, "I was glad I had my seat belts on. I'd have probably been thrown around quite a bit the way the accident happened. The car spun around when I was hit on the side opposite me and the belts held me in place. You never know when you're going to have an accident, so it's best to wear seat belts all the time your car is moving . . . and not take them off till you stop." Jack Dense Kangaroo Bob
