Every hour on the hour the fishing truck will take the fishermen to the river, where they can try to catch the longest or the heaviest fish and win a $10.00 first prize or a $5.00 second prize. (See schedule of events on Page 6) ANNUAL DU PONT PICNIC Food, fun, excitement, prizes and more! What do these words conjur up in a Du Pont employee's mind? The annual picnic of course! This year, Du Ponters and their families are invited to the Guion Farm, on July 30th, to participate in the day long festivities. Be sure to come with a hearty appetite. Food will be served throughout the day starting at 11:00 AM and ending at 5:30 PM. With additional serving lines, it will be even easier to come back for seconds, thirds, or even more ... If you don't get enough of that good Hardee's food, then help yourself to as much ice cream as you want. Finally, for those of you who dare, and don't count calories, keep in mind the donut eating contest in the afternoon. To create even more fun and excite ment, everyone can participate in the treasure hunt, vie for the door prize, enter the fishing event and join in the tobacco spitting contest. The youngsters will have a big day of events in which they can have fun and compete against one another. Activities will include balloon blowing, greasy pole, foot race, shoe scramble, penny scramble, tow sack race, backward race, three-legged race and the egg toss. A merry-go-round, trainrides and the spacewalk will be day long fun for the smaller children. Adults, young and old, can participate in the horseshoe pitch, bingo, softball throw, softball game, balloon bursting, cross cut saw and golf pitch. Winners will receive silver dollar awards for all events. While all the action takes place, pictures will be made by a roving photographer to capture your day on film and give you a souvenir to take home. Music will be provided by three string bands and as always, first aid will be available for minor scrapes and bee stings. To avoid ant hills, and soiled clothes bring a chair or blanket to sit on. Many long hours of planning and pre paration are involved in making this day a special one for every picnicker. If asked to take part and share in the work load behind the scenes or up front, please help if you can. In this way, we will have the best picnic ever and everyone can join in to "Have Fun Safely."
