SEPTEMBER, 1977 OPEN HOUSE EXHIBIT IN R&D BUILDING FINAL PLANS FOR OPEN HOUSE ARE SET The big 20th Anniversary celebration at our Plant is just around the corner. Thousands of people are expected to tour our photographic film products manufac turing plant the week of October 3, 1977. A newly completed Casting Line and the R&D building are highlights. We're also recognizing the Du Pont Company's 175th Birthday. Among the persons invited to see our facility are the Du Pont Company's Irving Shapiro (Chairman of the Board), other members of Corporate Management, North Carolina state and national government officials and local community leaders. These persons will be at the plant at 10:15 Tuesday, October 4 for an employee assembly in the Mall. They will then tour the plant and stay for lunch as our guests. A T.V. news conference is scheduled for Mr. Shapiro. Employees will tour the plant on three week nights. They should have already received and returned a pre-registration form for their families and guests. The form specifies attendance on either Tuesday, Wednesday, or Thursday nights between 5 and 9 P.M. and is necessary for meal planning. The general public may see the plant on Saturday, October 8 from 10 A.M. to 3 P.M. Phil Wingate, Vice- President and Departmental General Manager, will give a short address. Assembly At 10:15 A.M. in the Mall in front of a speakers stand at the R & D building entrance, plant employees and invited guests will gather to hear an address by Irving Shapiro. News Conference-Lunch-Tour At 11:00 A.M. a T.V. news conference will take place at the speakers stand. Invited guests will begin the plant tour lasting 1.5 hours followed by a lunch at the serving tent in the south parking lot. Plant staff and area heads will accompany and serve as guides to groups on tour. Guests will all depart by 3 P.M. Employee Tour At 5:00 P.M., "A" shift and Day employees, their families and invited guests will begin arriving for their tour. A stepwise agenda of the plant tour for each employee and invited guests (shown on pre-registration card) is as follows: Step By Step Tour 1. Stop at reception tent . . . pick up tickets (dinner and tour) . . . proceed to photo booth for souvenir group photo. 2. Have group photo taken . . . proceed to serving tent.
