FOTOFAX OCTOBER, 1977 DU PONT CORPORATE MANAGEMENT TO ATTEND OPEN HOUSE M/e are privileged to have several mem bers of Corporate management from Wilmington, Delaware, scheduled to visit during our Open House. Among them are Irving S. Shapiro, Norman A. Copeland, John C. Metzger, Jr., Robert A. Piper, Joseph Waltz, Kurth H. Johnson, Lincoln A. Stewart, and Edwin S. Malloy. Irving S. Shapiro is Chairman of the Board and Chief Executive officer of the Company. A well-known corporate executive and business spokesman, he will give a brief address on October 4th at 10:00 A.M. to employees and guests. Mr. Shapiro came to Du Pont in 1951 as an attorney in the Legal Department and was named Chairman of the Board in 1974. He is affiliated with numerous business and civic organizations on local, national, and international levels. He graduated from the University of Minnesota with a Bachelor of Science and later a Bachelor of Laws degree. He was admitted to the Bar in Minnesota in the early 40's and was later admitted to practice before the U.S. Supreme Court. H Norman A. Copeland is a Senior Vice- O President, member of the Executive ™ Committee and Board of Directors. He 3 joined the Company in 1937 as a develop- mental engineer in the engineering department. He was appointed to his present position on January 1, 1973. Dr. Copeland graduated from MIT with a Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering. He obtained his MS and PhD in chemical engineeringfrom the University of Delaware. John C. Metzger, Jr., is Assistant General Manager—Photo Systems, of the Photo Products Department. He joined the Company in 1946 as a chemical engineer at the Grasselli Works in Linden, N. J. He was assigned to his present position in 1974. Mr. Metzger is a graduate of Worcester Polytechnical Institute with a Bachelor of Science degree in chemistry. R >1 Robert A. Piper is Assistant General r1 Manager—Instrument and Electronic 1 Products, of the Photo Products ' Department. He joined the Company in ■ 1962 as marketing manager for the newly formed instrument products venture in the Development Department. In 1974, he was promoted to his present position. Mr. Piper received a Bachelor's degree in chemistry from the University of Alabama. After graduating, he was an officer in the U.S. Navy for four years. ti L.——1 Joseph E. Waltz is Director of Manufacturing, Photo Products Dept. He started his career with the Company in 1941 as a chemist at the Experimental Station, near Wilmington, Delaware, in nylon research. He was named to his present position in 1970. Dr. Waltz received his Bachelor of Arts degree in chemistry and his Doctor of Philosophy degree in physical chemistry from Indiana University. m M Kurth H. Johnson is General Director— E Photosystems Marketing Division, Photo |K Products Dept. He started with the £« Company in 1941 as a trainee at the H Parlin Photo Products Dept. He was named General Director of the Marketing Division in January, 1970. Mr. Johnson graduated from the Carnegie Institute of Technology with a Bachelor of Science degree in chemical engineering. He later received his Master's degree of chemical engineering from Carnegie. ST' Lincoln A. Stewart is Production Manager in the Photo Products Department. He joined the Company in 1947 as a shift supervisor at the Parlin, N. J. Photo Products plant. He assumed his present position in February, 1970. Mr. Stewart graduated from Iowa State University with a Bachelor of Science degree in engineering. During World War II, he served in the United States Air Force and attained the rank of a captain. Edwin S. Malloy is Manager for Personnel and Industrial Relations, Photo Products Department. He joined the Company in 1946 as a process engineer at the Parlin, N. J. photo products plant. He assumed his present position in August, 1964. Mr. Malloy graduated from Lehigh University with a Bachelor of Science degree in mechanical engineering.
